Pumping before injections

For those that pump prior to injections, do you use a tension ring or do you try to inject while the pumped erection is subsiding? How does this compare to inserting a tension ring after you inject?

Also, does anyone know if taking Aleve a few hours prior to an injection might affect the quality of the injection?
