First time I heard this and I wonder if its something new...and safe? A pharmacy aid suggested that for guys who like to be discreet (usually single dating guys) he recommended "freezing the needles. Maybe have 5 of them in the freezer and take a couple with you in a discreet carrier. He said the liquid unfreezes very fast. Anyone hear of this before?

freezing ruins bi-mix.....try it on one, if you don't believe it.

I think FrankF knows his stuff as far as Bimix freezing goes.

I think I had done frozen syringes for Trimix -- which of course is BiMix + PGE-1... can't say I noticed any difference but it could be because the PGE-1 continued on at full strength and thus I could not tell that the Bi part had degraded.

Anyways, making up a batch of loaded syringes and then keeping them on tap is a common way to do it.
And since it wouldn't stay frozen for more than a half hour if you took it out of the freezer, it probably makes no difference if you just store them in the fridge.

Also, a few hours or even a half a day of room temp will not terribly degrade or make unsafe a loaded syringe. Maybe don't keep it against your warm body if you can help it but just at room temp won't hurt much.

If you google "Long term stability of Trimix". You will find a proper study done by the University of Texas. In summary they found that the Alprostadil (PGE1) element of Trimix degrades by about 8% over 5 days at room temperature. Bimix is reasonably stable at room temperatures and does not have to be frozen. Neither Bimix nor Trimix are adversely affected by freezing. It may well be sensible to keep Bimix in the fridge to reduce the possibility of bacterial growth in a multi use vial. Even using just Alprostadil by itself you will not get much loss of effectiveness by having a syringe in your pocket for several hours assuming that you do not have it somewhere really hot such as in the sun in a car.

I'm a straight Alprostadil user and the pharmacy tags a note on the vile to freeze the product. I get 2 at a time & leave one ready in the fridge. As we know it takes time to wipe vile top , withdraw med & measure out the dose and remove air bubbles & make sure not to touch any part of the process that must remain sterile. While not long it can seem like forever if single & trying to pull this off w/o alerting your partner. I personally like to draw & use all at once figuring it lowers chance for reduced med strength or infection but like the thought of pre loaded syringes - either in fridge or freezer. My frozen vile thaws fast so a 1.00cc shot should be ready fast. I have a small Polar Bear med cooler with a "blue bullit" container inside for extended cooling - not sure I would feel safe with a syringe out too long after cooling though. I have found cold solution can sting but injecting at room temps more comfortable just sayn.

I use syringes I've preloaded and keep in the fridge.
The cold solution doesn't bother me at all, and I can get up, get the stuff out, shoot and be back in bed in several minutes, although I've never actually timed it.
I'd hate to try to rush things too much.
I can probably do all that in less time than I can pee, but that's another story.
Once, I actually forgot to prewipe the area with the alcohol swab, but I suppose, I survived it.

Seems from your experience that there is little risk of infection from preloading n fridging the shot so I will use that if I need to be fast. I have always wiped but I have to wonder how effective just swabbing a wipe is. The thought of an infection from a dirty injection makes me cringe. Glad to hear you faired well tho .

This may not be applicable here, but I inject insulin into my love handles several times a day. In this regard, i reuse the same syringe as many as five times and keep the syringe ( with cap on) in the frige along with the un capped vial. I do not clean off either with alchohol prior to use and after 20 years doing this have never experienced an infection. As long as you keep the needle capped, I do not see any danger from infection from keeping a preloaded syringe in the frige.

My Trimix comes frozen and is labeled "keep frozen until ready to use."
