Hi
We have sterile needles and syringes for injecting to treat your ailments and small glass vials for mixing bacteriostatic water and bacteriostatic sodium chloride.
I am new to this forum and need some advise.
I do not have an urologist, just my primary care physician. I have been using Caverject for 6 months. I purchased the carton with 6 vials, 40mcg each. I used to mix 1cc of bacteriostatic water in to the vial and the vial would give me 3 or 2 good boners. I purchased the 1cc syringes and the 30g needle from different vendors, this allowed me to mix and draw with 22g and use a virgin needle to inject.
Unfortunately my new insurance does not cover Caverject anymore, thus, I had to switch to Trimix. The mix is:
papaverine 30 mg + phentolamine 1 mg + PGE1 20 mcg
I am aware that this is done and fine tune at the urologist, however, I do not have one now.
My understanding is that Trimix is more potent than Caverject.
1) If I was using 17 or 20mcg per shot (40mcg / 2 [since I was getting 2 shots out of the 40mcg vial), how much would I have to use of Trimix?
2) my syringes are metric, each line is .1ml, and I was drawing up to .45ml of Caverject mixture, how much would I have to draw in the same kind of syringe?
Any information provided will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Mario

Re: Trimix vrs Caverject
Hi Mario....
Welcome to Frank Talk.
I am Bill, married 75 year old guy in Michigan. I have been using Trimix for over 3 years, and it STILL makes my penis respond every time.
My dose is very small; only 3 units (.03 ML) .
My formula is exactly the same as yours and has been the same for all 3 years.
My syringes are 'insulin syringes' ... with a 31 gauge 5/16 th inch needles... and the tick marks are "units" on them
I have never used Caverject or any other injectable except trimix.
Hope you do well with your new medication.
Write me if I can be of any help at all. (Us prick-stickers gotta stick together)
Bill

Hi Bill
Thank you for your reply, I am 60 years old and for I hear Trimix hurts less than Caverjet.
Your dose is very small, I hope mine works the same.
Is your insulin syringes detachable or is the needle attached to the syringe?
Thank you
Mario

Re: Trimix vrs Caverject
Mario...
Most of the trimx users here use the disposable syringe. They are cheap. My co-pay is $10. for 100 of them.
Will your doctor be giving you your first injection? That was the procedure for me and others. If so, they will usually only inject a "safe" amount that may not give you the super boner we all seek... but they just want to be assured that there is a reaction, even if it is not "terrific"... don't be discouraged.
Good Luck
Bill

I have read in this forum that when you draw blood is good thing, my understanding with intramuscular injections was that when you draw blood you should find another injections site. Have you drawn blood before?
Are your syringes 2 pieces or on piece? Can you detach the syringe and needle?
Thank you

Mario...
I never worried about getting a little blood or not.... I have had only a couple misses (both early in my trimix career).
Insulin syringes and needles are all one piece.... Safer I think that risking 'dirty' needles.

What we're doing is "intercavernosal" injections, not intramuscular.
I've never made any effort to draw blood, and the injections only failed twice out of about 60 times.
Modern disposable syringes cannot be taken apart, except for the plunger.
Good luck!
RP in 2012 because of prostate cancer. 100% ED, also some leakage problems.

Drop in to the Chatroom some time .... a good place for socializing, or Q and A....
You will like the banter, even if it may get a bit crusty

Re: Trimix vrs Caverject
Thank you all for your replies,
I used Trimix for the first time last night, I used 10 units and it went perfect, no pain as with Caverject, lasted 1 hour, hard, just a great experience.
Now with my next question for you masters.
If I use 10 units every time, how many uses can I get from a 5ml vial ?
I rather be like Bill and be able to use 3 or 5 units, would increasing the mix accomplish this.
If I am using:
papaverine 30 mg + phentolamine 1 mg + PGE1 20 mcg
Would the following do the job of decreasing my dosage?:
papaverine 40 mg + phentolamine 2 mg + PGE1 20 mcg
Thank you
Mario

Re: Trimix vrs Caverject
I don't do chemistry, so I don't know what the "ideal" formula would be for any of us.
5ML=500 units, hence 50 injections
My original dose was 7.5 units... and I eased back from that a little at a time....
Once you know you are on the right track you can mess with the dose size a little at a time.
So glad to hear that it works for you!!!!
