Just a question as how long is papverine good for. I have some that is just a couple months past the experation date on the box. Unopened and always kept in a coo, dark place. Should I just throw it out?

I am NOT a doctor...having said that, if it was me I would give it a try. If it works, fine. If not, just toss it

Msg. to Shakyone...Papaverine HCL by itself has a very long shelf life. When either phentolamine or prostaglandin or both are added, that shelf life is infact decreased. Keeping the medication refrigerized slows down that degradation. Realistically speaking, 2 1/2 - 3 months and some go even longer but after that sterility of the med becomes an issue.
So, to be on the safe side I would refresh your med just about every 3 months. One patient of mine years ago told me his vial still worked after 2 years ! ...not a good idea
