Hi - the compounding pharmacy that I'm using says that it's okay to thaw and refreeze tri-mix without any consequence. Anyone found otherwise?
Thanks,
Darryl

Yes. My urologist and the place where he gets the Trimix says NOT to freeze it

I was told the same thing. But just for the hell of it, I filled 2 syringes with my tri mix and put them in the freezer. 45 days later I thawed one and tried it. Worked just as well as a fresh from the bottle fill up. Yesterday I tried the other one, after 90 days with the same result. As far as I'm concerned, go ahead a freeze it.
If you are still not sure, suggest you fill one syringe and freeze it for ?? days.. See for yourself the results

Re: Refreezing of tri-mix
Here's a link that shows 6 month shelf life if frozen. My compounding pharmacy said ok to freeze.

I freeze, thaw, and refreze all the time. 2+ years. And not a problem at all. Work like a charm. I only had one misfire and probably due to wrong location.
Make sure you thaw till the ENTIRE content is liquid, shake well, then withdraw. Freeze again as soon as you can.

Re: Refreezing of tri-mix
My pharmacy did my last prescription in four vials. They said to freeze three and keep one out for use now. when that one is gone thaw out one of the three that were frozen etc. So far it seems to be working.

You can freeze and re-freeze it that is just a standard thing put on it drs don't know. I had a pharmacy check it out and they said there was no reason to not freeze it. I have had it last for a year or more. My first dr told me to freeze it years ago.

Although I've had no reason to try it, guys here have said they've frozen syringes with the right dose in them for "quick use."
My question is: does frozen Trimix expand like water? If so, can it crack the syringe?

Re: Refreezing of tri-mix
The top of the syringe has air and the robber "plunger" can move further up the syringe. Accordingly, the frozen Trimix has room to expand up the syringe so it doesn't crack the syringe which is made of a durable "plastic" like material.
