Bimix stronger mix, the good the bad

The good >>>>Went to my Uro 2 weeks ago and ask him for a stronger dosage of MiMix. He said that Mayo had a stronger mix to offer now. I ordered and have received the prescription but have not tried. It should be much better as it is twice as strong. I was using 45 units so I am hoping to be able to cut back to 25 units or so.

The Bad >>>>>When I called Mayo they said that since the first of the year my insurance did NOT pay anything on the prescription. I was paying $55 for 2 Vials (2.5ML each) now over $105 for 2 Vials. Still not bad as I am hoping to get about 10 injections per Vial, before about 5.

Here is my prescription the old and the new.
OLD
PTA (phentolamine) = 1MG
PGE (alprostadil same as PG postaglandine or very similar the best I can tell) = 12MCG/ML

NEW (Ingredients are 2x the old)
PTA (phentolamine) = 2MG
PGE (alprostadil same as PG postaglandine or very similar the best I can tell) = 24MCG/ML

Hope this is a help to some of you, I can say this site has been great for me getting information from. I hope this helps some of you looking for something stronger that you may be using.
Please give me a reply on your dosage and or insurance going up.
Thanks
Richard

My dosage is:
45mcg/27/1mg
Hi-PGE/PAP/PHENT
I'm currently injecting between .15 and .18ml.
I'm paying $110 for 4 vials of 2ml each. (no insurance)
My pharmacy doesn't ship out-of-state.
There are some more reasonable compounders around, but I like that mine comes in dry form and I add the Sodium Chloride to it
That way, I don't have to keep one vial going too long.

Richard,

Hope you have some good luck with that mixture.

From time to time we see someone come by here with such a mix as yours. Really it is not BiMix in the true sense where BiMix has NO PGE-1 for the reason that PGE-1 is the ache producer for some people so they use BiMix with only Papaverine + Phentolamine .. and if it works for them gives no ache. And that is the industry assumed ingredients for BiMix.

What you have is something like TriMix-Minus-One ... which will still have some ache, although the phentolamine will mask some it it I suppose. Also there is no real reason to even MAKE such a mixture as you have .. maybe it is a little stronger than plain PGE-1 of course ... and maybe they leave out Papaverine for cost reasons or that is supposedly causes added fibrosis in some people. Who knows their reasoning?

Let us know how it works tho .....
