Needle Length for Injections?

Hey all,
Wondering what you guys have found to be the length that seems to have the most dependability. I have been going with 5/16", and have found I am only getting results 50 percent of the time. Do you think the length is too small? Are people using a half inch and going all the way in?
Thanks!
John

I use a 6mm needle -- the shortest available. Works fine. Might help to review your injection technique overall. Try keeping a detailed diary for a while, at least during "practice" sessions. Compare what you're doing when it works versus when it doesn't. That helped me a lot. Good luck.

I use the 1/2" one. I make sure to draw blood to ensure that I'm in the right place. Occasionally, I have to withdraw the needle slightly to get there.

I always wonder about the "seeing blood" technique, because if one does not see blood, isn't there now air in their syringe? And isn't it dangerous to inject air into blood once you eventually do get into the CC?

For some reason, I see no air in the syringe. As you get more used to injecting, you can feel the needle get through the tough tissue. That usually means you're in the right spot also.

My Uro said to use a 1/2" and inject at a 90 degree angle. I asked if a guy's thickness had anything to do with the size needle since it seemed that a guy who was thick needed a longer one. The Uro said no because it u inject right it goes into the corpa no matter how thick you are/
