compounding pharmacy for trimix

All,
I was using a Pharmacy in San Diego CA for my Trimix. I can still use them but my last prescription (no longer covered by CVS) was $150.00 for 5 units.
It came in two vials, I froze one and used the other as needed.

Looking at many posts, I see some of you suggesting different Pharmacy's. I am looking into Avella which many of you have mentioned charging $80.00 for 10 units.. I think.

Anyway, looking for any suggestions, and especially any Pharmacy's that offer the powder TriMix that I can mix as needed.

Thanks.

Ok, more info....
My mix is 20/2/30 (P1/Phen/Papa)
=======================================================
#1 TRI-MIX-PGE1/PHENTOLAMINE/PAPAVERINE INJECTABLE (refill)
Strength: 20MCG-2MG-30MG/ML==== Quantity: 5==== Refills: 0====
=======================================================
Avella called me today and said they can offer the following:

Single strength: 15 / 0.05 / 5
Double strength: 18 / 0.6 / 6
Triple strength 29.4 / 0.98 / 9.8

All priced at 2ml vial for $55.00 and cheaper in larger quantity.

Is my mix above way out of wack? Or is Avella strange? I have 30 Pros and they don't come close. Also my mix is 2.0 of Phem and they don't come close....

If I go double, 18 is about the same as my 20. but... .06 Phen compared to my 2.0 and 6 Papa compared to my 30 .... hmmmmm

Open to suggestions...

Hello treetop, I'm thinking that you meant $150 for 5 MLs, (milliliters), as 5 units would be equivalent to .05ml, which is a very small amount.
That being said, I pay $80 for a 5 ml bottle, so the $150 deal is very expensive--comparatively speaking. $80 for 10 ml is a fantastic deal, and one you should check out!
I too would like to get some dry trimix, but the current pharmacy I use doesn't carry that unfortunately. I live in northern Arizona and don't have many choices.

If you ever get down here to the Phoenix/Mesa area, I have a compounder that makes it in dry form.
It's not what I'd call cheap since it's $110 for 4, 2ml bottles.

Yes, I did mean 5 ML. And yes expensive. I have now contacted:
-Olympia Pharmacy - no reply back yet.
-Talon Pharmacy - no servicing out of their state so no California
-Avella Pharmacy - I don't like the formulas they offer, but price is pretty good.....
-Zion Pharmacy - This is a maybe.

I think my previous post has Avella. $55.00 per 2ML vial.

Zion suggested I use their strongest formula, which is 30/2/40.. my current is 20/2/30. They said just use less.
Price $130.00 for 5ML vial, and ships as two vials in powder form.

I may go ZION. But you say expensive?... Who are you using and what price if I can ask?

I am currently thinking of Zion as a stronger formula means using less, and won't have to freeze the 2nd vial as it's powder.
I would freeze or refrigerate any unused liquid once mixed from powder.

So... $110.00 for 4 x 2ML vials? So that is 8ML for $110.00? that sounds cheap to me, or better.
Do they ship out of state? Maybe I should try them :)

Want to share the name....

The last time I checked at Community Clinical Pharmacy near Dobson and Southern, they don't mail out.

Empower Pharmacy - 12123 Jones Rd, Houston, TX 77070, phones (877)562-8577 Ships two versions of Trimix --

Std: Papaverine 30mg/mL, Phentolamine Mesylate 1mg/mL, ProstaglandinE1 10mcg/mL and
Super: which doubles levels of Phento and PGE-1, to 2 and 20 respectively.

They ship powder plus all the goodies needed to reconstitute it. Cost is $90 for a 5ml vial, + $10 shipping.

The neat part about using powder is that -- if you know what mix works for you -- you can buy several vials at once and store them until needed. Unlike the mixed solution, powder can be stored at room temperature without deteriorating.

I have bought from them several times. Once you get all the paperwork straight, they are very efficient. I just make the phone call, and 2-3 days later, open the package.

BigEyes,
I was going to get a quote from Empower, but after two days of trying to fax it was always busy so I gave up.
I have renewed my San Diego script since I had one left. Then I may go with Zion as they also ship powder.
Zion charges $130.00 for 5ml plus shipping charges.
Is Empower cheaper than that? They do have my formula which is 30/2/20 (Papa/Phen/Pros)

Just bothered me that their fax was always busy......

I will have to renew my script for my next order. So if Empower is less than $130.00 for 5ml maybe I will give them another try.....

Thx.

I also had some problems getting through to Empower via FAX. Finally, called them on the phone and spoke to Jay, a pharmacist. He acknowledged the phone issues. Said they were expanding or moving.

Anyway, took a couple tries, but finally get a fax through to them with my script. Since then, a simple phone call, and the order is in my hands in a couple days....

They only ship two mixes, but one is your formula of 30/2/20 (Papa/Phen/Pros). Last price they charged me was $110 shipping included for 5 ml, so it's cheaper than Zion. Also, if you mix is working well for you, they'll give you a discount for more than 1 vial. Since it's powder, it'll store indefinitely.
