Needle size

I've recently started on trimix and I 'm up to 40 units (.4 ml) but nothing. I was looking at the syringes given to me by the pharmacy and noticed the needles are 5/16 inch. Everything I 've read, including the literature from the urologist, says the needle should be 1/2 inch. Wondering why I got 5/16 and if this may be why it's not working.

Any advice ?

It could be the problem.
I can't use the 5/16" ones.
Many don't have to do this, but try to withdraw some blood after the needle is in.
If no blood, in my experience, I'm probably not in the right place.

Correct about the blood. Even if you don't pull on the plunger you will almost always see some blood in the tip of the syringe after a successful injection. I alway used 5/16 needles with a thick penis, but I learned to feel it when it punctured that cavernosa. I always buried the needle to achieve that. I missed once, and it was obvious because there was a build up of tri-mix under the skin.

My guess is that 5/16" is too short to reach cavernous. I use 1/2" 28 gauge.

I called the pharmacist and she said she gave me the 5/16 beause they were out of the 1/2 inch. Now they have them in stock and she will send the 1/2 in for free.

Hopefully this will help. I went through a bimix solution until I got to 80 units and had the doctor switch me to trimix. All the while I was using the 5/16 needles. After $235 in meds hopefully this is the answer.

Try 1/2" 30G. Also...try injecting at 10:00-11:00/1:00-2:00 positions instead of 3:00-9:00.
In pic below, you can see that there is a central SEPTUM dividing the two cavernosa and it's ABSENT ("incomplete" higher up. So injecting at HIGHER ANGLE might allow quicker access of injection to opposite side. Also, it appears the TUNICA (inner pink layer) is THINNER at 1:00-2:00 vs 3:00.

Thanks for this info. I've been injecting at the 3 and 9 o'clock position. I've heard people metion using the 10 and 2 o'clock position but wasn't sure why this angle was recommended until your explanation. Not sure how exact I can get when injecting but will try this in future . I think getting the 1/2 " needles may really help - I should get them in a couple of days (the only compounding pharmacy near me is 150 miles round trip but fortunately the pharmacist will mail the syringes to me) .

It would be nice to have a closer pharmacy. When I took viagra for several years I used to get it overseas online really cheap and fairly fast. Now with these injections it's expensive ($135/5 ml) and a real hassle making the long trip to the pharmacy.

I don't think anyone needs a 1/2 in needle to get into the cavernosa. I've recently read using the shorter needle creates less damage to the tissues, just "bury" the needle to the hub. I stretch my penis when injecting to "even out" and insure a good penetration, usually closest to the Glans I can get. Less pain than when injecting near the base has been my experience. Aspiration isn't really necessary especially when you feel the plunger is easily depressed while injecting.If it's hard to depress, pull it out and move to another spot as you haven't penetrated the tunica.
When you withdraw the needle and there's a drop of blood at the end you've hit it right.

What size needle do you use ? It seems the 3/16 inch I 'm using is just too short.

There's no "one size fits all" in injections and no absolutes.
Some guys can use the smaller ones and not draw a little blood, but some can't for best results.
