Still figuring out this Trimix formula 40/30/1 that seems to be too strong for me.
Why don't doctors start out every on with a aprostadil and depending how we do upgrade it. Each component in these formulas will arrach to a specific receptor which eventually won't respond to the chemical. So it would make sense to start everyone on alrosradil and upgrade from there. My urologist started me in the strongest Trimix that is giving me extreme erections in the lowest doses. I'm 52 and expect to have sex life for another 20 years. What if I run out of options soon.
I'm gonna ask for aprostadil for my next prescription.
What do you guys think?

Just go for the trimix 10/30/1. That should put you around 5-10 units with less duration. I'm currently using10/30/1
@10-15units. Straight aprostadil is an option, but more expensive and you may get more pain.

rahod1 is correct. I just do not understand why doctors start people off on stage/step 3 formula. A very basic trimix formula is 10/30/1 but I agree the 20/30/1 would be best for you and start with 5 units.

I (70 y.o., Ed for several years treated with Viagra and then Cialis) have been on Aprostadil for 2 1/2 years with no problems at all, erection wise. Usually use 12 units. Works every time, though I too often have difficulty cumming. I've had no pain or ache either. After I was on the drug I read a lot on this site about trimix, bimix, etc. so I asked my uro why she'd pt me on "straight" Aprostadil. She told me that she felt it was wise to start with the simplest formula with the fewest active ingredients and to add other components only if and when I had poor results with that. made sense to me! also, one of the posters here said that Aprostadil was more expensive. Not so. I get mine from a compounding pharmacy my uro knows and trusts. Cost is $155 for 40 or more doses, less than $4 per shot!

I'm glad it works for you, but it doesn't really sound "cheap".
Is that around 40 x .12ml = 5ml? for $155?

Sounds reasonable to me.... on a *per shot* basis.

What's the strength of your formula? And why would 1 component be more expensive than 3 in the Trimix. I pay $200 for 10ml of Trimix.
Thanks for the info.

well edex/caverject have special containers holding pge where trimix you just 1 vial abd cheap needles. And pge is the most expensive so in trimix your getting less than in edex.

I am on Alprostadil from a compound pharmacy. Edex was going to be about $100 a shot for 20mcg. I got 100mcg in 5ml for $45. I am seeing doc next week and going to ask him for a higher concentration of 100mcg/ml which would be 500mcg in 5ml. The pharmacist said that would only be about $55. I guess the higher concentration doesn't raise the price in proportion to the drug. I am injecting 20mcg so I am only getting 5 injections per vial. The higher concentration will make it easier to give rather than 1ml I will only have to give .20ml or 20units. And I will get 25 injections for $55 a little over $2 a shot.
Doc said Alprostadil is a little safer than trimix as far as prolonged erections. I am not experiencing any other side effects.
