Injection Results Vary

Hi all,
I've been injecting for about a month now(59 RP Nerve Sparing 9 months out)
and have been getting wildly varying results:
4 times on the left side=2 failures with no results and 2 10 minute erections.
4 times on the right side=4 successes.
The only problem with the successes is that they last a minimum of 2.5 hrs to 3.5 hrs and after about 20 minutes hurt like hell!
I have terrible aching to the point of not being able to orgasm and it hurts to the touch.
My urologist gave me 5ml of alprostodil in his office with only slight reaction. He told me to try between 6 and 7.
My first injection was 6.5 on the left with a 10 min erection.
I have started to dial down the dose, I'm down to 5.75 on the right side and still got a 3.5 hr aching hammer!
I could deal with the long lasting erections if it didn't hurt so much.
I've been reading the forum for a few weeks before joining and I've noticed people talking about Sudafed and exercise to make it subside.
I'm going to try that.
Any and all comments/advice is appreciated!

Firstly...you should switch to TRIMIX if you have aching like that. With Trimix you will get around 1/10 the dose of Alprostadil, which is responsible for pain. When I first started, the Dr injected with low dose of Alprostadil and I got aching, even with a partial erection (which was intended). I insisted on a Trimix trial a week later and got no aching. That's what I use now with great success. I do have 4 hr erections, but not painful at all. I can't avoid 4 hr erections without sacrificing the initial quality of the erection. Sudafed doesn't work for me...walking up and down stairs helps, but only after 3-4 hrs. I wouldn't worry about 4-5 hr erections either. Priapism is defined (by drug companies) as an erection lasting OVER 6 hrs. Anything less than 6 hrs is defined as a PROLONGED erection.

As far as failure on the left side...that's where I have had mine (only 2 though). Try injecting at the 10-11:00 position instead of 3:00 and FARTHER from the base on that side. This worked for me..no more failures on the left side.

rahod is correct but the left side is always more difficult for most users. I would bend penis to the right against your body-this will help getting injection more at right angle needle insertion. Also, get rid of that alprostodil, not sure why your uro would prescribe that unless its just edex. Trimix will be a lot more comfortable.

Thanks for the advice guys!
I'll take that up with him.
I wouldn't mind the 3 hr erections but it is MAJOR hurt.

I have a feeling that erection quality and duration have s lot do do how you keep the medicine in your penis in the first few minutes as much as the potency and amount of the medicine. I get much better results at lower doses and using the Autoject squeezing my penis at the base locking the medicine in. Some people here use cock rings or Velcro tape which I'm also gonna try.
If you get good initial erection it will squeeze the veins not letting the blood in yiur penis longer.

The varying results coninue although this time it was pleasant.
I only had 1.5 ml of alprostadil left in the bottle and hadn't had a chance to get a refill.
I thought what the heck, can't let it go to waste so I injected it on the right side.
The results were a pleasant 30 min erection with NO aching or pain!
Now mind you the Dr. tried 5 ml in the office with little result and recommended
6 to 7 ml. Even at 5.75 ml I was getting 3 hr aching erections.
Wondering if I've found my sweet spot or this is just another wild variation.

I hope you got the decimal point in the wrong place, but I think we get the picture.
