Autoject El is Incredible!!!

I was sceptical but I got a Autoject El for about $40. Regular injections hurt me pretty bad and since I went for blood aspiration sometimes I stabbed myself like 4 times at once. So these are my findings with the Autoject.:

First you set the needle length. 5/16 for me.
Try it on your thigh first with nothing in the syringe if you want.
Use it according to instructions on your penis with proper hygiene.
Hold the tip against your penis a few seconds after discharge, because that's how long it takes to inject.
Guys! 100% PAINLESS !!!!! Amazing!!!
Hold the alcohol patch on the spot for a minute, because you may have spot bleeding.
My urologist told me and now believe that you don't need blood aspiration.

I highly recommend it. I will never go back to hand injections again.
All the best!

newtoed I can't agree more about the Autoject EL. I'm not sure I could have injected myself with a syringe so like you stated there is absolutely no pain and it is so quick you never know you were injected. I like the fact that is is so consistent and controlled with the needle depth as well. I would highly recommend anyone starting injections to use this devise.

I like auto injectors...but I use the Inject Ease by Ambimed. Can't see needle...quick precise injection..you push plunger yourself. Has adaptors for all syringe sizes (100,50,30ml) and also needle depth adaptors to shorten depth if you choose. Can't feel a thing either.

Where do you get the Autoject El? All I see is the Autoject 2. Is that the same thing? How small of a syringe will it accept? If I under stand correctly my new meds which I pick up Monday will be .25ml per dose. I was using Edex at 20mg of Aprostadil in one ml of saltwater. My new med will be compounded at 40mg of Aprostadil per .5ml of salt water, so my dose will be a quarter of the fluid volume as before so a tiny syringe should work. Maybe a 1ml syringe or smaller? Will the Autoject work with syringes that small? Suggestions??

They seem the same. I got mine from Amazon. It accepts the 1ml syringe and you won't need bigger then that. The needle length is adjustable. I use 5/16.
It's truly painless!!! No needle phobia.

OK, thanks. I'll probably try it. However I can't imagine a 5/16. The Edex has essentially a 1/2" and I get my best results when that one is pretty much buried and I can't really even push the plunger down without difficulty unless it is.

It will work with most needles. There is an adjustable tip and ruler to verify.

To follow up, there are adjustable tips (mine came with 2) that fit almost any needle length. Here's a link to a Youtube video on how to set/calibrate the Autoject EI (I got mine in Feb 2016 on Amazon - $39.99 - also available at many online diabetes suppliers):

https://youtu.be/cnAMS5kIVso

There is a difference between the Autoject EI and Autoject. The "EI" stands for External Indicator - a rod that follows the plunger that tells you when the injection is complete. Interestingly, there is only one model on the Owen-Mumford website specifically "authorized" for Intracavernosal injections and it is not the EI - it is the FN - but it says it is only for 1ml syringes and I couldn't find it anywhere.)
