I see many post about Tri-Mix but almost nothing about Caverject. Would like to hear from others using Caverject, How much and How often.

I have had great success with my injections. Do let my know what you think.

I really am surprised that almost no one uses caverject. Wonder what that suggests?

Caverject (alprostadil)gives some men a great deal of pain and aching. It is also more expensive than most bimix and trimix formulas.

Carverject has only abut a 5% chance or causing scarring (peyronies and/or corporal fibrosis). The problem with carverject (PGE1) is it causes pain with lots of men.

The risk of penile scarring is much higher with bimix, trimix and quadmix. That is what caused my corporal fibrosis and made matters worse. Watch out for a sudden curve (peyronies) or having to use more and more to get or mantain an erection.

Before my implant we tried caverject and to me it was very painful. I never liked it. Implant much much better. :)

I've used Caverject for 15 months after pills stopped working well. I used the Impulse injector kit, about 75 jabs. Started with 10 mcg, up to 20 and found that 30-35 mcg was optimum. It was handy for traveling. I was burning through 2x20's at a time. It burned and ached pretty bad during the act and afterwards. During so bad that I could not achieve orgasm much of the time. Some say it is preservatives in the carrier fluid. Dunno. As far as frequency, I would do max 2 and occasionally 3 times a week. My insurance at the time covered it well, about $20 a box. Now onto Medicare they don't cover it nor do the Supplementals. Not even pills. On your own. No sex after 65 for government. So back to urologist and he Rx'd Tri-Mix via a compounding pharmacy. Its cost is cheaper. Better results and less burn/ache and quicker die-down, but for me with a caveat, I quickly developed an allergy to one of the other non-prostoglandan components. They say this is very very rare. See my other thread on this. I am now on a prostaglandon-only "Mono-Mix" formulation until I figure out the allergy thing. Hope thus helps.

I've never used Caverject. However, I did initially use Edex, the competing brand name version of alprostadil. I used the 20s. I didn't use it very often as my insurance rationed me. I think it worked out to once a week or so. Thankfully my insurance quit covering it altogether resulting in my discovery of pharmacy compounded alprostadil, often called mono-mix. It's dirt cheap and I like it better than the pre-loaded set-ups, with one exception. The darn near unlimited shelf life of the Edex due to it being in dry form in the vial with the included separate saline is pretty nice. I probably average every other day use. It works well. At the moment I'm using 6 to 10 units of a 80 mcg/ml mix.

How many mcg of alprostadil is going into that 250 units of water? My mix is 80mcg per ml (100 units). I'd keep it well frozen after mixing it.

Edited to fix a typo.
