Started Injection Therapy -- Not Working

Guys -- Sure this all sounds familiar to many of you. But, all new to me. January 6 told I had prostate cancer, DaVinci robotic surgery June 19 (Had to wait because of heart attack Jan 5 and on blood thinners for it.) Nerves spared, but right side beat up really bad (cancer in all sections of right and apex of left). Started 5mg Cialis daily a week after catheter came out. Not getting any results from it, even when try full 20mg dose once per week.
Surgeon suggested getting more aggressive and prescribed Trimix injections, standard mix. Went to my urologist for training on how to inject. He started me with 20 unit injection in his office, got firm but not hard. Recommended next time I try 40 units (explained how to progress until got desired result). Was very happy worked. But on my own, before left office decided to add another 20 units see if that made better. It did, left office with nice hard on and smile on face. Lasted a good hour and went down. Wanted to try it out so later in day used another 30 units, had good time. After 2 hours being hard, concerned I had broken rules and was in deep shit, luckily at start of 3rd hour it went down on its own, just before I headed to hospital and tried to explain why I had done what I had done to myself. Promised self wouldn't try that again.
Went 3 days and wanted to have romantic interlude with wife so got everything out and injected 40 units as recommended. Nothing happened, no results.
Waited another day and tried again (40 units) -- no results (again).
So -- opinions -- have I screwed things up having fun the first day OR am I just not getting it right.
As you can tell, really don't want to explain day 1 to my doctor AND before I get lectures I know it was stupid, but is was such a relief getting hard again.
Just wanting opinions.
Thanks!!

I didn't have PCa, but when pills stopped working I tried injections for months - different agents, different doses - and none of them worked at all for me, not even a little bit. So even though injections work for many, and perhaps most, they don't work for everybody.

Dear Friend,
First of all it's very unlikely that you did some permanent damage to your penis.
Don't give up so easy, before you stop or consider implant.
Injections take practice. Do it every other day by yourself without the pressure of sex. Just masturbate if you want. It's fun.
You should consider massaging your penis a little bit before and after to get the blood flow gong. Sometimes compressing the base of your penis after the injection will keep the medicine in better. After a couple minute start stimulation to get things going.
It took me at least 20 injections before I got consistent results. Buying an auto injector (Autoject El) made a huge difference for me.
Hang in there until you are convinced it won't work.
All the best.

Newtoed is correct. You MUST practice. You should get to the point where you can inject with your eyes closed and it's perfect every time. Fumbling around with the needle and vial under the pressure of a naked woman waiting for you is nerve-racking. Learn to stand in front of the mirror and say this:
"This is my dick. There are many like it, but this one is mine. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me injecting correctly my dick is useless. Without my dick, I am useless. I must fire my dick true." ...
Seriously, you have to practice even when you aren't going to have intercourse. Sometimes I practice without even drawing any medicine in the vial. That's a dry run just to keep me up to speed on the injection technique. I'll inject and withdraw the needle a little bit to see just a little blood come back into the syringe. That's a signal that I injected perfectly. That's call aspirating.
Remember, practice makes perfect. Once you have your injection technique, dosage, and script down you can expect virtually 100 percent success -- if you practice. Good luck!

?? are you doing it manually or using auto-inject device? ?? Within 1 inch from the base at 9 o'clock or 3 o'clock position? ??Are you pushing a 5/16 needle all the way in till the plastic part touches your skin?? I had several failures with auto-inject device and went back to manual.

U didn't mess anything up the first time.... If you got no reaction at all from either injection , I'd say you missed the CC .. It happens but as others stated with practice under no stress to perform you will get a technique down pat and be ready to rock and roll when need be.. Hell, at least once a week I inject just to look and admire it ! Perfect practice makes Perfect ! Good luck my friend keep at it you will get it right!

For those who asked -- using manual injection, not auto. Also -- using 30g 1/2" needle. Doctor during training session advised insert about 1/2 way in. He had me do my first injection in front of him with me doing it. Said I was doing all correct (and it did work). So.... Looks like I need more practice. Will try aspirating -- that wasn't mentioned in training session -- to confirm in correct location. I will give it a try again tonight on my own and see. Thanks for the advice. Will keep you all posted.

With the half inch needle you can go in too far and probably will want to leave some of it exposed. With the 5/16 needle you can probably count on burying the entire needle. I bury the entire 5/16 needle and then some. This depth will vary for each person depending on their own physique, including flaccid dick circumference. Yeah, try aspirating. Also, if you're in the correct spot the plunger should depress fairly easily. There is usually much more resistance if you're in the wrong spot. This is a video of what works for me using a 31G 5/16" needle:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KocDkt ... e=youtu.beThere's several good demonstration videos on YouTube that are worth watching to help you learn a successful technique. Everyone will have to adjust the needle depth to their own dick and that will also vary somewhat depending on where up or down on the shaft you go. In my opinion you need to learn to determine if you're in the "sweet" spot for each separate injection unless you're going to drill the same spot each time and I don't think that's a good idea.
Yeah, you're probably going to need some practice before you can reliably take it to your wife.
Good luck
