My training visit, the results, the cost.

This is my experience with my training visit, first injection, results, and the cost. I hope this helps those that are considering injections.
Let me first say that this whole process up to this point was made easier by guys sharing their experiences on Frank Talk. I had very little anxiety going through this and was well informed so there were very few surprises.
I visited the urology clinic at the hospital where I had my surgery seven years ago and had a consultation with the urologist. After going through the question and answer period with him I made it known I wanted to try trimix if possible since all the other oral meds did very little. We scheduled a training visit and first injection for this week. Cost of this visit since I was "self pay"...$166.
Went to my training visit this week that is done by the P.A. Very nice guy that was very straight forward. The tech informed me that I could be there anywhere from 1-3 hours depending on the results. We went through the orientation about trimix, injections, safety, do's and dont'ts. He would inject me with a "starter dose" and wait to see what kind of a reaction I would have. Started out with 20 units and I injected myself with his help. He used a bigger needle than usual for training purposes but it was still easy and nothing more than the initial sting...nothing to be concerned about. He sent me out to go get coffee or breakfast and said they would bring me back in 30 minutes or so.
After a few minutes I began to feel some movement and then eventually soreness or like it does when you had "blue balls". After 40 minutes I get called back in and while waiting for the doc to return I take a feel and notice that not much has happened. (He did warn me that the results in the doctors office could be different that what you get at home.) The PA returns, we take a look, and it is somewhat engorged but no erection. He explains that he uses 15 different formulas and not to be concerned, we just have to find the right formula and dosage. I knew there was a learning curve so I am not worried. He sent me home with a preloaded syringe with 25 units that I will try today. I am to report back to him the results with some answers to questions he wants to know concerning duration, quality of erection, how long, etc. He wants to work with me until we get it right and before he writes a script for the meds. He went over Priapism and the warning signs. He basically said that if I go slow with this and not rush it or try to overdo it I should be fine. He said it's those that try to increase too much at one time that will get into trouble, mainly the younger guys. I left the office a little discouraged that I didn't have better results but I do understand there's a learning curve through all of this. The discomfort took a couple of hours to completely go away but was no big deal. Total cost of my training visit...$292. Hoping for better results today.
I hope this has helped some of you that is contemplating this type of therapy.
