Erection keeps going away.

I am using Trimix. I am now up to .65ml I never get a "hard" erection, it gets semi-hard. When I try using it, it goes soft. A few minutes after no action, it gets semi-hard again. Try using it, it goes away, repeat. This can go on for a couple of hours. My wife says I must be turned off by having sex with her. There is nothing further from the truth, I love her deeply and still find her desirable.
What is going on?
My urologist says my max dose is .75ml.

Why does your urologist say your max dose is .75ml? If the urologist cannot help you find the proper formula and dosage then you should consider changing urologists. How experienced in injections is your urologist? Many are very inexperienced -- a disadvantage compared to a urologist who has successfully treated many patients with advanced erectile dysfunction.
For now, talk to your urologist about your concerns. Ask him about moving up to a stronger formula. When I first started out I was on such a weak formula that I was injecting 1.25ML on each shot. That's almost twice the maximum your doctor recommends. Now, with a much, much stronger script I can achieve success with as little as 10 units injected.
Trimix can work once you find the right formula. Keep talking with your doctor until you achieve success. Good luck!

I am not a doctor, but I agree with cigar.
My uro keeps telling me to use 1 ml (100 units), but I have found 60 units working for me right now after increasing formula to 30/1/10. I started with 30/0.5/10. I will be giving the 30/1/10 a little more time, but likely move up to get the units down.
What is your formula?
Anyway, it is a trial-and-error thing to find the right formula and right dose. Sometimes you just have to take it into your own hands (no pun intended) and figure it out. This message board has been a godsend in that department.

I'm not any kind of medical professional. What I post here are only my layman experiences, which may well be wrong and bad advice.

FreddyFree,
I agree with the previous two posts. You do need to continue working on finding the correct formula. It sounds like you need a stronger mix but I don't believe you stated what your formula mix is.
In the interim, if not counter to your doctor's instructions, you might want to consider adding a cock ring. You'll want one that isn't too tight and can be easily removed while fully erect. You'll want to experiment to find the ring that matches your needs and dick but they're relatively cheap and experimentation can be fun. You don't want one so tight you run into the same issues and time constraints as with the tighter rings used with vacuum pumps. It should come off easily while erect. I'm suggesting the ring as just a supplement to the injection meds and not as a stand alone solution. I like the Lyps brand set but they very likely won't be the right ones for you:

My prescription bottle says:
Alprostadil 5.9mcg
Papaverine 19mg
Phentolamine 0.59mcg
I live in Canada and I see people say their formula is 30/1/30 or some thing like that. How do I convert?

Freddy, my first inadequate starter formula was:
PGE/Pap/Phent 8.88mcg/16.67mg/.58mg
It appears that yours is similar?

This seems like a bad venous leakage to me. Did your doctor conduct the Doppler test? If he does it, make sure he conducts when your laydown, standing, etc.

FreddyFree,
I'm not a medical professional but my layman advice would agree with the inference made by thomas1. Your starter formula is inadequate and you need a stronger formula.
I wonder why he is limiting you to .75ml ? I was using a full ml of Edex 20 (Alprostadil @ 21.5mcg/ml) for a good while with no ill effects other than to my wallet.
Keep at it, you'll get there soon.

From one newbie to another. I am going through the same thing. Seems to be that I have to slowly increase to max dose and then maybe my uro will increase the strength of the mix. So follow the instructions given and call your uro if you need instructions and just take it one step at a time. Explain the process to your wife. Tell her you have been started on a very weak mix and it will take time to find the right mix and dose for you. From what I have read from others the results will be worth it. I started 3 weeks ago and still haven't had significant results. But no way am I giving up. Hang in there and ask any question you have. The guys here seem to have a lot of good info. Or just start reading through some of the threads. Great stuff. Take care and all the best of luck to you

Fred,
You should talk to your doc and ask to at LEAST go to 1ml (and at the same time ask for something like 30pge1/ 30pap/ and 1 or 2 phent for a new formula -- otherwise it could get expensive per shot).
Even a 1ml shot will be pretty small low amounts (but other folks even if they have strong formulas but are only using 0.1ml successfully are using much much less than you are now to get their results. So I would have some concern there about possible venous leak (or High Blood Pressure issues??) -- but not to worry too much until you have tried 1 ml of your current formula and get a new stronger formula.
