Where to Inject

I use trimix injections. I've receive slightly different instructions, depending on which doctor I talk too. I know to hit the cavernosa, alternate sides, stay away from urethra and avoid veins. But I've gotten different information about the following:
1. Where to inject - Near the base of the penis, in the middle or toward the end/top/glans side
2. What to do after injection - Restrict penis at the base to keep drug in the the cavernosa, massage the penis, base to tip, or do nothing.
Are there standard instructions? Have men tried different techniques and, if so, what works best?

This topic has a long thread of questions and answers from another day in the recent past. Try this link to find it in FT.

I'm not a medical professional of any type and I'm just sharing opinions based on my own layman experiences.
There are YouTube videos put out by some doctors and some Mens Clinics. Look around on YouTube for those. They're easy to find. I didn't really get any instructions at all when I started other than to read the long lost instructions that came with my Edex prescription.
EDIT From an old box insert from some expired Edex. The parts relevant to general use condensed by me so are no longer official. Always follow your doctors advice:
1) Select site mid-shaft on one side of the penis avoiding visible blood vessels. Alternate sides with each use and vary the site.
2) If uncut, pull the foreskin back. Grasp the head and stretch the penis with thumb and forefinger and stretch it lengthwise along your thigh so you can clearly see the site. Wipe with alcohol swab.
3) Insert needle until almost completely inserted. (The Edex has 0.33 X 12.7mm needles which are 1/2" long)
4) Inject the meds slowly over 5 to 10 seconds.
5) If the meds don't inject easily or you experience a burning pain reposition the needle by advancing it slightly or by partially withdrawing it until it can be injected easily.
6) Withdraw needle and immediately apply firm pressure to the site for for 5 minutes with the previously used swab, longer if necessary until bleeding stops.
Those Edex instructions were pretty minimal. They are the closest thing to official standard instructions I ever got. They don't say anything about 10/2 or 9/3. They just say side of penis.
Personally my favorite spots to inject are about mid point on the shaft although I make a conscious effort to move around from the base to just under the glans.
I'm torn between massaging the meds in to help disperse them better vs keeping pressure on the injection point to reduce undetected internal bleeding. I usually massage it in.
I can see where restricting the base of the penis to restrict outflow of the meds might make sense if you have a venous leak but that's just a guess and not based on any medical opinion I've read. I do put on a silicone cock ring behind the boys right after injecting. That may serve to retain the meds in the penis longer but the ring isn't very tight. It does seem to help with the erection but I don't know if that's from helping to hold the meds in, restricting blood outflow, some psychological effect or a combination of the three.
As graymare said, there are other threads covering this topic extensively. Take time to read as many as you can.

bldoink You have hit it right on the Head my friend!
May I add to this thread...Tips you see here may not work BEST for YOU!
What works for YOU is Best! But there are awesome suggestions here on FT and none have lead me in the wrong direction!
READ,RESEARCH, and "experiment" with caution! DON"T be afraid to ask your URO all the questions you can come up with! I think I EDUCATED my URO (with the help from my Compounder) with more info than HE knew about Trimix and Quadmix!

I am still learning. about 30 injections now. I had a hard time injecting my shriveled up penis. Don't hit a vein!! Have a hard time finding the penis let alone the veins, This is what I do now. I have 1 3/4 x9 VED. I have a silicon sleeve that is about 1 inch tall on the end of the VED. I use liquid soap on the silicon seal, suck the penis into the VED to about 6 inches. Then I pull the VED cylinder off leaving the 1 inch tall sleeve on my penis. The penis will stay large. The veins are all exposed. I wash it off and clean with alcohol. I inject at 10 or 2 just above the sleeve missing any veins. Then remove the sleeve, hold pressure on the injection site for 2-3 minutes. This stops any bruising at injection site. Then message whole penis. That works well for me.
