Could IPPs Become Obsolete...

Postby defiant » Fri Feb 01, 2019 1:51 pm

...and what would that mean for men already implanted?

Here is a study that investigates the potential for IPPs and the challenges facing their manufacturers.

37, mild to moderate ED since age 21, 3 Dopplers - 1 result VL & 3 later results 'no physical problem', dependent on cialis (efficacy now waning), overcame Lymophoma at age 26, ED causing immense/profound psychological distress. Considering implant.

The conclusion of which says:
Conclusions:

The paradigm of the hydraulic IPP has come a long way since its inception. From decreased malfunction rates, and lower infections, to high rates of patient satisfaction, the one durable treatment for ED still has a lot of potential. To stay relevant and competitive there are many areas that Coloplast, AMS and any future competitors should improve upon. The biggest challenges will be integrating new technology into the devices to allow them to be more customizable and effective. The use of 3D printing, new biomaterials such as the nickel-titanium alloys are a start. However, the next paradigm shift may be an ED treatment from within the corporal tissue in the form of stem cell therapies, gene therapy, or other forms of regenerative medicine. The IPP has shown durability in a changing landscape of ED treatment but must always be evolving to keep up.

Most interesting to me is the scarcity of mention of self-erecting devices. An erection that grows over time without manual pumping would mimic the natural erection process and allow a man's partner to feel as a participant/cause of the erection. Can be very unsatisfying to a partner to lose that participatory feeling, even if it were illusory.

There have been papers about shape memory alloy implants made by nickel titanium (no pump, no hydraulic) for years.
Recently, work has progressed enough to test implant surgery on the cadaver.

This type implant may make ipp obsolete

They may. But I wouldn’t bet on it anytime soon. It’s kinda like hair loss. They have new studies all the time about possible cures for baldness. Some ppl latch on and pin there hopes on it. Some on the other hand get treatments like drugs and surgery.

anyone chooses to dream and wait for new treatments, he will lose his best years. In three years, thanks to my implnat ( sure not only for it) I had so many different girls (I'm single). if I had chosen to wait for new solutions, and even if they worked, I would be at least 60 years old and I would not be able to have so much good sex like now ( age, other physical problems, less vigor and sexual stimulation).
I know it and it's ugly to say, but for me this is the truth.

I agree. Sometimes you have to make the best decision you can with the best available data you have available. I have been reading up on the tests for the expanding implant. The metal one which straightens when heat is applied. Interesting for sure. it is promising but 5 to 10 years for even getting to studies. Me, I am not waiting that long for a hard dick.

Makes me wonder about what will happen when I get into my hot tub with the neighbors. Hope they are friendly. That sucker does not go down till it cools off. As far as implants what is available today is it for now. So for me it will be a titan next month if all goes well. I will worry about future revisions in the future when I have more facts to go on. Stem cells might work someday but not sure about in my lifetime, but back to first paragraph. Not waiting any longer for a hard dick.i miss being buried hard in a wet juicy pussy for hours if I want to. I figure if it all goes to shit I am no worse off. My wife does not enjoy sucking a soft one, cannot get in her even on pills, not risking shots. I got enough plaque already. Few options so going with the best one available right now.
18 cm plus 1 rte titan installed March 2019. Revision March 2020 by Dr. Andrew Todd, Richmond KY. He replaced the titan with an AMS 700 LGX 18 cm cylinder plus 2 rte for 20 cm total length.
