DON Nixon - penile implant- Dr.Tajkarimi - Urologist who is a penile implant specialist

Imade a mistake in regards to the size of the Coloplast Titan that Dr. TAJ USED. The size I mentioned previously that a 24.1cm Titan was installed. However, a 25.1cm Titan was installed with a 1cm tip.

Hey guys! I have had a crazy year that most of you can identify with. I am 63 years old, was married for 30 years and lost my wife 6 years ago. I had a RP on February 4, 2019. Prior to my surgery, I have had three exclusive relationships since my wife’s death and they have all been with women who are still very active sexually. At first, I was anxious about my ability to have an erection around these women, but it all seemed to work pretty well with a couple of failures. But for the year before my prostatectomy, I was using a full dose of viagra almost always. It worked extremely well.

Since my prostatectomy, I have not had an erection. I take a daily dose of cialis and occasional full dose of viagra. I tried injections. The bimix didn’t work and the Trimix was painful. And I hated injecting. So I have 95% decided on an implant this fall- about 9 months post prostatectomy. My RP surgeon said that if I wasn’t having any response by the fall, it was very unlikely that erections would return. I also wonder how good they would be even if they did eventually return. The implant seems like the way to go. My last relationship ended recently and dating while I am in limbo seems out of the question.

My main anxiety about the surgery is the size issue. I remember measuring my erection years ago and it was about 6.5 inches. When taking viagra more recently, it seemed to be as long as that.

I have been told that the stretched length is what I should expect. When I stretch it, I don’t think it is 4 inches. When I pump it, it is 6”. I have used the pump for rehab. The flaccid length is longer now than it was after the surgery.

I have talked to Dr. Eid and he said that he would stretch the penis and then do an injection to figure out size. Well, if I end up with the stretched length, I will be very depressed and the injections did very little so it doesn’t seem that would get me to 6”.

One of he threads mentioned that a tool is used during the surgery that is the ultimate way size is determined. I also read a comment about Dr. Tajkarimi who did a revision on a guy and added 2” of length to him. It was with a Penuma implant.

Can any of you guys ease this anxiety about size??

Anyone have knowledge about the Penuma implant or Dr. Tajkarimi?

Dr. Eid’s office called and advised that my insurance, Anthem Blue Cross, excludes implants. Anyone have any info on an individual plan that would cover?

This site is great. Thanks already for all the info!

The real story is that a measuring tool is inserted into your penis when you're on the table. It is pushed up, then down. The two measurements are added together. The closest size implant shorter than that is selected. Rear tip extenders are added to bring the implant up to the measured length.
The doctor can't use longer implants due to the very real possibility that the tips can erode through the head of your penis. The bottom of the implants are securely seated in the Cruz in your pelvic area & can't move much. That is why too long of implants can be dangerous to your penis head.
Join YouTube. Dr. Kramer has some excellent implant videos. If you can handle surgery pictures they are very enlightening. After watching a few of them you'll understand the process. It is very well explained.
Btw, most if not all of the top rated implant surgeons follow basically the same process.
IMHO, the stretch test really doesn't mean very much. The measurement during the surgery is the important one. Btw, there are times that Dr. Kramer pushes the measuring tool in pretty hard. He gets every little bit that he can.

Thanks! Dr.tajkarimi uses the Penuma for added size- I don’t see how that could work.

I buy my own insurance. I buy a market place plan (Obama Care). In KS my BCBS Gold plan does have coverage for implants if caused by injury or physical damage. But it only pays if I go to a doctor in state in my coverage area. Insurance is state by state but if you buy a market place plan as that was federal it might have coverage. My plan for just me cost me $1070.00 a month. I have a 1500 deductible and 3500 max out of pocket. When I checked several years ago cost for me with insurance was between 4500 and 7000. Seems devices cost different prices and insurance has a limit. So depending on the device cost was the difference. And some of the surgery and stay afterwards was not covered.

Check with your local uro's office. Mine has a business office that I went to talk about this and wanted money up front. They might have the info for you.
