Guys:
My friend was telling me that I need to protect my new mechanism when I go back to the gym. He also said leg presses, ab exercises should be avoided. Pls weigh in (pardon the pun)!

avoid certain exercises?
Re: avoid certain exercises?
like anything else or even any other operation, use discretion.
I mean, n\aturally you don't want to go right back to pressing major weight with your legs. That should be obvious. But our minds have a great way of telling us when we've gone too far, for most people that is.
Eventually (when it feels right), you should be able to go back to doing anything that you had done before your implant.

Thx for the reply. It really means a lot. I can't wait to go back to the things I love (like you know what!)

You should talk to your implant doc to see what he recomends about how long to lay off heavy exercise, ie lifting. You have an increased risk of herina at the point where the tubes enter you abdominal cavity. That should heal pretty much in a couples of months and after that you should not have to worry.
