In my earlier posts, I was searching for a great implant surgeon in North Florida. I received no recommendations from FT members. Undaunted, I continued my search and found Dr. Kenneth Delay in Tallahassee Fl. Doc is with Advanced Urology Institute. He loves his work and has a 1000 or so implants under his belt in the last 9 years. It didn't take long for my wife of 48 years and I know that Doc Delay was our go-to guy. He implanted me Aug 8,2019. Due to an emergency, my 7:30 am surgery was pushed to 7:30 pm. Not his fault. We went to our motel about midnight.
Went back to the center the next morning where he removed the catheter.Drain tube removed 3 days later. All in all, everything went great. I had no need of narcotics. Week and a half with extra strength Tylenol took the edge off. This IS a process and NOT without discomfort, but I would do it again tomorrow. For me, wearing pants and underwear were the worst, especially while driving and working. Pressure from my jeans while seated becomes rather uncomfortable after a while. Daily improvements have been very noticeable. Doc fitted me with a Titan 20cm implant with 2cm RTE. He left me with a very handsome unit. My wife loves the look. There will be no photos, so don't ask. We had our first expedition last night. After years without sex, we approached it tentatively. Women too, suffer from a number of physical issues related to our ED, as do we men. Bottom line. It was AWESOME for us both. We expect it will only get better. If you a searching for the right surgeon in the South Alabama, South Georgia or Florida, check out Dr. Kenneth Delay.

Thanks for the testimonial. Congratulations on successfully navigating the process of finding a surgeon, getting the implant and on your "maiden voyage" outcome. I can testify that, for me, it got better than my wildest expectations and we can have sex better than I ever did. Years of E.D. and the wisdom gained about women, sex and life in general has informed my lovemaking and appreciation for my girlfriend.
Bless you both.
While women are not permitted to be members of FrankTalk, there is no barrier to you posting a testimonial from your wife. (I would have sent this in a PM, but, in my opinion, more female voices/perspective would improve the dialog here, so other members' eyes should see this sentence.)

Re: 6 weeks post implant
I just read you post to my wife who has been a nurse for forty years. We are both retired and enjoy sex very much but I have struggled with trimex and abusing my penis with injection# for years. I now have scar tissue on both sides. My wife is not enthused about the talk of implant. Just saw m6 urologist last week and he told me again if your going to continue having sex you need to get an IMPLANT. I CANT imagine not being able to fuck my wife. After reading your post I felt better. I hate wearing a catheter but I have had numerous surgeries over the years so I can tolerate them for a short time when I have to put up with them. Sounds like your on your way with a new cock at 67 yrs old. I’ll be 67 in February 2020. I probably will have to travel to Knoxville, TN for my implant. My old urologist does implants not sure how many he has done but I’m sure he is no where near your doctors numbers. Best of luck to you and your wife. I wish some wife’s would submit letters after implants to Franktalk! I think it would really fill a need! Thank you for your input! God Bless!
66 yr old male married 36 yrs use trimix four yrs, cilais and Viagra. trimix work well developed scarring on both sides had implant 1/9/2020 at UT Med Ctr, Knoxville, TN Dr. John Lacy.

The cath was only for one day. It was removed the next morning. The drain tube was in for 3 days. My wife played a HUGE role in my/our recovery. When considering having an implant, she, like your bride, was not a fan. After lots of research and finding the doc we were comfortable with, she got fully on board. A girl friend asked her thoughts on the whole deal. Her reply: "I can take it or leave it, but I'm doing it for him. I believe he needs to be whole again". She has been more than I could have hoped for. Clothes gave me fits, so in the evenings I didn't wear mt pants or shorts. Didn't bother her at all and made pulling the pump down in the scrotum much less troublesome, as I was swelled to the point that I couldn't reach it. All in all, I believe this is the best thing/decision we have made in years. After years without sex, we are learning each other again as if we were virgins. I love my bride more than life itself, but in this case, she has given me more than I can give in return. Show this to your bride. maybe it will be of assistance to you both.

I got home from implant surgery around five in the afternoon. I awoke at 4am the next morning and went in the bathroom and removed my catheter myself. It's an easy thing to do, just don't hesitate pulling it out after deflating the little anchoring bulb! I had had 19 previous surgeries on my abdomen so was very familiar with how to do it and I believe most doctors wouldn't mind showing you how it's done. Plus it saved me an hour ride in the car back to the hospital the next day. I discussed with my doctor the drain tube which I was also familiar with from previous operations. I suggested we forgo doing that and the doctor agreed right away. It's such a simple operation I don't really see any need to be inconvenienced with one. With all my prior operations my wife wasn't enthusiastic as well about me getting an implant. She said it wasn't necessary to her as she had become comfortable with our lack of a sex life. That hit me like a Mack truck and I said I was doing it. To say my wife has been very pleased in the over two years since is a vast understatement. I had a challenge on my hand rebuilding our relationship due to all the mental issues I'd put us both through because of ED. I wanted to ask her once "aren't you glad all the resentment you've experienced because of my detachment from everything because of ED magically evaporated after we could have sex again?" but thought better of it! Our golden years now contain most of the available gold in the world.
