Sharp edge/corner when the cylinders are deflated/bent

Hello all,

This is my first post here. First of all, thank you for sharing useful information and your valuable experiences here. My implant surgery was on December, 19, 2019 at the University of Utah and I received an AMS 700 CX (21cm+1cm). I am a 40 yo fit guy with around 4-5 years history of ED because of venous leakage. Anyway, everything has been pretty normal so far and I started cycling 3 weeks after the surgery (now I am in week 7 post surgery). Here is my question: When I am fully deflated and the cylinders are bent, I can feel a kind of sharp corner/edge on the left cylinder where it is bent. The right cylinder is perfectly fine and the bent area is very smooth. There is no issue with such a sharp corner/point and my only concern is that such a point could become a weak point over time and could potentially break and reduce the life span of the implant (I know the cylinders' material is very durable though). Does anyone else have the same experience? When you touch the cylinders in the deflated mode, is the entire surface completely smooth?

Those are normal "accordion" folds, sometimes called "concertina" folds or dog-ears. They are a natural occurrence due to the slight tissue contraction that occurs in the penis when the pressure is released from the implant.

When I completely deflate mine, I have to take care to do so in a rolling downward motion rather than squeezing from left to right. Otherwise, I end up with the cylinder edges at the top (dorsal side) of each side of my penis. Rolling it down where the head is tucked in front of my scrotum to squeeze out the pressure, gives me the most natural hang and least amount of noticeable dog-ears or folds. I said "NOTICEABLE" because they still occur and will occur but I don't notice them as much.

Titan is notorious for this, same problem here, wish I'd gone with ams, hate the folds

After a while it is no longer an issue. Around 6 months after sugery i stopped noticing any discomfort. Time will heal most issues .

First off welcome Abb, we are kind of neighbors had my surgery just down the street from you at the VA medical center.

I too have that bend that I found to be at times irritating mine is the opposite with the sharper points on the right side.

I’m a couple of months ahead of you in healing and cycling it does get better in the early days I have found that when I would have discomfort going to the restroom and just letting it hang for a while or shift how I’m in my underwear. On my days off or after work I’m naked robe or commando at home in lounge pants.

That is very good info to minimize the kinks (another copy/paste operation here, lol).

Unfortunately, the kinks appear in both Coloplast Titan and AMS. It is just the with the Titan, its more pronounced because the cylinders are a bit thicker in the Titan, but, like it was mentioned, smooths out over time and whatever is left, you don't notice.
Guys who are showers when flaccid, do not seem to have this issue because when their cock is flaccid, there is enough room for the cylinders NOT to kink. I am more of a grower, so I am expecting this when I get my Titan (but still open to the Tactra). It has also been said that us growers will become showers...not as much as guys who were regularly showers, but we will get a bit more length:)!

Well, going on 4 months after surgery. The method you mentioned is easier said than done, but I understand it.
When I started, I was squeezing left to right (right to left if you are left handed). This method did not squeeze out all the saline.
For now. I am still doing the left to right, but start at top of my dick. Squeeze down towards base, and I have been just wringing my dick as hard, but pointing up. As I re-read this thread, I should point it down:)
Waytho, I am trying to picture the method you do so I don't squeez left to right. Are you saying your coil your dick as you go down? As I said, I am trying to picture your method.

Doing this might be a bit tricky, but emptying the implant tubes in a fashion similar to how I empty a toothpaste tube might be more complete than simply squeezing.

For a toothpaste tube, I flatten from the end with the palm of my hand or the backs of my fingernails squishing virtually 100% of the tube's contents towards the outlet. Of course, fingernails would be painful, but a roller of some kind with the penis on a flat surface might do.

I have also tried rolling up my penis as firemen roll up fire hoses to empty and store them. I get a pretty good percent emptying, that way.

But I usually don't need to be THAT flaccid. With a medium-sized phallus and underwear that holds me close to my belly, pointing up, simply squeezing is plenty for me. Sometimes I don't even bother with that, letting the saline just flow back into the reservoir by itself. That leaves me about 25-30% inflated with not much of a bulge unless I am wearing a speedo. (Which I have not allowed myself to do since it started to look ridiculous under my belly.)
