Unintentional or spontaneous inflation is commonly called "auto-inflation" and is usually caused by the pump valve allowing fluid to transfer from the reservoir to the implant without the usual pumping of the bulb.

A few causes I can think of:

Stiff implant tubes can "suck" fluid in. This usually mitigates as time passes and the implant tubes get more pliable. Is more problematic with the Coloplast than with the AMS devices partly because of the material of the tubes and partly because of the way the different manufactures' valves are made to work.

Scar tissue encapsulating the reservoir can squeeze fluid into the implant tubes.

Flexing the torso muscles can squeeze fluid from the reservoir into the implant tubes

All the above require the valve to permit flow which means the lock-out function is not working (which could be the valve just not seating - cure it by cycling the valve a few times. If not curable, the valve may be faulty and a surgical fix may or may not be desirable, depending on how much trouble the autoinflation is to you).

An accidental squeezing of the pump bulb might be what you had in mind. It is possible, but since the squeeze must be fairly strong, unlikely to be accidental unless you accidentally sit on the bulb, catching it between a hard seat and your pelvic bone. Also unlikely and certain that you would notice it immediately.

I am lucky enough to have had and extensive medical history and to have had to spend months on end in a hospital bed to ruin my dignity! that wasn’t since my implant but the same rule applies when someone is cleaning up after your every body function… generally, people are extremely kind and understanding… we all have our own bullshit to deal with… my girlfriend, my parents, my siblings, most of my best friends “female and male“ knew that I was getting my surgery… The general response was “wow, they can do that?“… The unpopular opinion is that confidence goes a long way… this is me… Every major system in my body is broken… I am extremely comfortable in myself. I can play you any instrument you want to hear and speak love to you in seven different languages… I have a robotics engineer in degree and I’m working on my doctorate of medicine as I’m sure you can tell by all of the typos my blind phone throws out there… i’m a good person who’s had some unfortunate consequences… If someone wants to judge me on the size or functionality of my penis, it’s their loss…

I’ve told a lot of people mostly guys but some women. The ignorance of an implant is unbelievable, really they do that I didn’t know, type of stuff. I have some friends (a couple) that kinda pushed me to know what I had done and finally about a month ago on the phone I told the wife when she asked. Everyone is positive and maybe I could get some strange if I told more women but I’m married. I tell people in hopes that I’ll help someone someday.

I haven’t really had the opportunity to tell anyone but I’m sure going forward I will be selective in who I tell what. I’m certainly not ashamed of my implant. If anything I’m proud that I did the research and made the decision to get an implant. I certainly want to educate men about the availability of an implant. I know that a lot of guys are suffering in silence. Franktalk saved Me from suffering in silence and for that I will always be greatful! Thank you guys!

@notaes, I understand what you're saying. It's not really something people talk about in mixed company, just like people done talk about their bathroom habits or their physical attributes below the belt in mixed company.

I'm still pretty open though. Several people at the BDSM club I have been to have not only heard about it, but I've shown my inflation/deflation video on PornHub (users/BionicWilly). If course the dungeon is one of those places where exposed genitalia is commonplace.

When I was living in Thailand, I met a lot of people who each had some form or practice or wanted to have an implant.
I think Thailand is one of the countries where implants are very popular and people do a lot, but they probably don't say a lot that they have implants.

Hey Guys,

I haven't told anyone except you guys & my wife. I told my older brother & friend that I was having surgery in NYC for Peyronies. Which wasn't a lie, but it also corrected my ED.

After 10 days of my operation I told my children (for Peyronies) , because we babysit the grandkids, that I could not pickup the kids.

I don't feel that I should have to tell just anyone, sometimes I feel it's a private thing, and other times I want to tell other like you guys, that there is hope after a RALP or Peyronies.

Here's a for instance, 35 years ago I got a hairpiece, I was 30 years old & till this day my younger brother still brings it up. I'm absolutely not telling him, for all I know he could be impotent, we don't talk about it.

Yet there a guy at the gym that had a RALP 5 weeks earlier than me, if he is having problems with ED & mentions it to me, then I would tell him, being supportive.

I've told all of my close friends and even some not-so-close. All are supportive and are very curious. In fact, I never bring it up in conversation but they inevitably do. They are curious about my progress and wonder if I'm glad I did it. Some are surprised that insurance covered it. They look upon it as equivalent to a cosmetic procedure and I have to tell them that it is a medical procedure. I get this mostly from women.

I've told people, ad nauseam. Those in our kink community are fascinated, especially the females. My best friend and his wife both know but don't like to talk about it. My friend seems to be uncomfortable with the idea of where the implant is installed and what is involved in it's being installed... prefers to put out of of his mind.
