I became bionic three weeks ago. When I saw my doc at my checkup last week, my scrotum and left testicle were still so swollen and tender we decided to keep me partially (~50-60%) inflated for the next two weeks before I start cycling the implant.
While the left side of my scrotum and left testicle are still quite sore throughout the day, it's manageable pain and I feel like the swelling is slowly but surely going down.
What I'm concerned about is the last couple nights at 2-3am, I've been woken up by excruciating pain in my penis that prevents me from falling back asleep for a couple of hours. My penis usually feels better during the day (sore but not excruciating). I can mitigate this with hydrocodone, but this is obviously something I don't want to become dependent on.
Has anyone else experienced this while recovering from surgery? I want to return to work soon, but with my sleep schedule getting thrown off and the swelling in my balls I feel like I'm still at least a week from thinking about returning to my desk job.

I slept with my ice pack for the first few days, getting up to refill it when it turned into nothing else but cold water. Since I kept my package cold at night, it was fairly numb and I never had any pain at night other than the throbbing of over coldness. In that case I would warm it up with my hands and then back to the ice.
