Hi, can I practice competitive judo after the implant?
And how many years of warranty do three-component prostheses have? i heard that ams 5 years old while coloplast for life.
Judo After implant
Re: Judo After implant
Others may be able to answer the judo question but as cfor the warranty, just remember that it's only for the implant itself, not the hospital or surgeon's charges. Those charges have to be covered on each revision unless there is a written warranty covering all charges including hospital and surgeon. I've seen some cash pay package deals that have that type of warranty but I'm not sure where I saw them.

Re: Judo After implant
I know that the guarantee is only for implantation, and that the intervention must be repaid. but if I can save about 8 / 10k it's not bad, since I'm only 23 years old. the problem is that some claim that the prosthesis is currently only covered for 5 years, others for life. I'm not understanding anything.
then I have to evaluate the judo issue. because if I have to give it up, I prefer not to do the implant.

I'm amazed that you would give up on the implant so you could continue judo! You must really love Judo!
I too am waiting for implant and worried that it may stop BJJ. I guess we could wear cups...but even then.
I will accept it's not going to happen if it comes down to it. Sex before anything else for me lad! haha

I do not do Judo, but I am very active in other sports. I have no problem. My thought is the only way it would be a problem having an implant and participating in Judo would be if you commonly get kicked in the balls. If so, you should be wearing protective gear and you can still wear it with an implant. If not, I personally can’t see how there would be an issue. Good luck.
I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.

Mirko, surf FT. Get a feel for what others have gone through. Read, read, read, and arm yourself with information.
You can go back to Judo with the implant. The implant becomes a part of you, but it is still an implant that cannot repair itself. Since Judo is a close contact sport that requires you to strain quite a bit to get out of a hold, or be held in pretzel-like positions, I would say you have to go easy when you get back into it. The straining, grabbing, twisting, etc, all adds up, so I would say you do not have to give up Judo, but you will have to figure ways to compensate for all the things I said above.
You either have a 3-piece, which would require you to go easy on the belly because the reservoir is in your belly, or the malleable, which is a 1-piece, and is a permanent hardon:) (I would not go this route for your situation).

I had titan installed on surgery and giving up grappling is something I pray I will not have to do training has been 1 of the only things that helped me take my mind of the hell my life had been before op.

I know what you mean. I am hoping for a titan too.
Would you consider using a cup?
Whatever grappling you do, it's all the same with the fundamentals.
We wouldn't be able to use the groin as a fulcrum if we used a cup, so that's ambars done. Which is BJJ pretty much done. Guess you could work around it. Better some than none. Get good at chokes.

I was thinking also if someone does a knee slide pass or heavy pressure from knee on belly sure I will hopefully be back training in 6 to 8 weeks and I'll keep u informed my friend.

You're right enough, there's the reservoir to consider as well. A good layer of muscle on top should offer some protection. A good incentive for me to get back in shape!
I guess we can but try. I'll be gutted too if it doesn't work out. Anyway, happy healing, take care of yourself young man.
