Time off from work

My surgeon states that:

if you have a desk job that is not very stressful-----1 week
if you have a job that requires lots of standing or activity---2 weeks

I agree based on how my healing went, I was able to work at 7 days after surgery, but i went ahead and had two weeks arranged, and I am glad that I did. Getting back to work at two weeks worked out perfectly for me.

I normally have a very high pain tolerance, but this one wasn't simple for me. I took 3 weeks off of work and then took an extra week. Primarily a desk job, but a lot of up and down and meeting with customers. It was 3 weeks before I could wear pants comfortably (and even then not really comfortable). I'm reading about people recovering after 11 to 15 days and there was NO way I could have returned to work that quickly.

I had peyronies and my Doc had me pumped straight out 80-90% pumped for FOUR weeks. I was going no where. Pain was bad. Real bad. I live out in the country so I would walk on a desert trail with my dick sticking straight out. Loose shirt to hide it IF someone came along. Shirt flapping and hitting it would feel like being hit with a hammer. 99% of docs don't do it this way but he says this is how he guarantees a straight dick using an LGX to straighten peyronies. Very happy with it now.

I took 2 weeks off, and used this time to heal. If you have a desk job I think 2 weeks off is a safe bet as I returned and worked a trade show for 8 hours the following Monday.

Without knowing what each person does for their job, it is difficult to apply the answers to your own situation. I had retired by the time I got my implant, but if I had still been doing what I had done for years, I would have needed a month at home to be able to do all of my duties. Part of my job was in a corporate office. I was left partially inflated the first month and it would have been difficult to dress appropriately and conceal my dick. Another aspect of my job meant a lot of going up and down stairs and carrying and lifting things I needed to do my office work. I was told not to lift over 5 pounds early on and ten after a couple weeks. That would have left me unable to do my job. As far as feeling ready to work, for me is was after a week or ten days.

I needed ice for the first week. Now on week two, I ice as needed - much less frequently.
