No woman I have ever been with would say yes to this, I think. If I was 60-70% able to achieve penetration with an erection instead of 20-40% (and that was with cialis), I probably would not have gotten the implant. Maybe even at 50/50 I would have kept my biopenis. And the folks I had been with who I’ve told about this have unanimously said “I never had any problem with how your dick worked”. They respect why I’m doing it though.

There are many wonderful men and women who would accept us and enjoy sex with us even if we didn’t get the implants. I have at least one friend with a micro penis who gets way more tail than I do. His partners don’t have any complaints either. Fundamentally, the implant is a self-centered thing, it’s about an aspect of our sexuality we want to express, but can’t because of faulty plumbing...even if that aspect is giving pleasure to another, it’s something we are doing to and for ourselves.

So if someone wants to do this for enhancement or body mod purposes, I’m not going to judge them or their choices. I can say personally, I would NEVER make that choice if I could get a natural erection that was reliable. I hope the poster will watch some videos of the operation and read through accounts of the experience here, and take at least SOME of the positivity we express here with a grain of salt. We are here supporting each other in a difficult choice many of us felt we had to make to be whole, sometimes we gloss over the difficulties or downsides.

I think it would a nearly unanimous “NO” if you asked folks here whether they’d do this if they could get erections normally before the implant.

I suspect, especially from reading Mod123's other posts that he does not (yet) have E.D. His question seems to be focused on implant as elective surgery as an enhancing body modification.

Some men might think it is a good trade-off, a perpetual, on-demand erection in exchange for a working penis with all the natural sensations intact. Mod123 is wise enough to ask if the downsides outweigh the upsides. SW0110's comment about his long-lost '69 Firebird is spot-on.

Of course, there is an alternate question as well. Would a woman in a relationship with a man with a penis that works as it should prefer it if that same man had an implant? If it were her choice alone, would she opt to give him the operation?

Hypotheticals. We men who NEED the implant find the question essentially irrelevant. As an academic exercise, it is ... well, it is what it is.

Thank you to Lost Sheep and others for sharing your views to my posts. I suffer from ED to a certain degree, that is sometimes I can achieve a soft erection that just lasts till ejaculation and that is it. I also suffer from life long PE. The conundrum is to live with it or go bionic which I believe is not reversible once someone has made that decision.I am learning a lot from this forum and putting out questions to get personal perspectives from members who have had an implant. It is a tough decision to make to get an implant so I trying to learn as much as possible and the best way to learn is from members. This topic was a hypothetical question to understand the mindset of member who have had an implant.

I understand. But the premise is slightly flawed by the going back part. Think about it. I have a couple of teeth with root canals & crowns. Are they good? Yes. Last me my lifetime? Most likely. Can they need future work, think revision? Good chance. I'd still prefer my natural teeth over the crowns.
So the only logical path forward on ED is the standard path of treatments until none of them work anymore. That is why I maintain that acceptance that you are at the end is key to getting an implant. If mastrubation with what you have is acceptable then fine. Stay where you are. Just be aware that lack of nighttime erections will cause you penis to atrophy down to almost nothing.
When you see all of the warning signs of the dangers ahead. Sure you can ignore them. But be prepared that the road is going to get a lot worse faster that you think.
You have not disclosed where you live, age or if you have insurance or the means to pay for an implant. It could easily take up to a couple of years to gather those resources to accomplish your goal if you decide on an implant. By then you might be in a frantic race living life, making money & arranging insurance. PLUS working/worrying about maintaining your length & girth.
Basically. When shit happens it happens fast. The solutions to the shit takes longer to do.
Also you don't mention if you have a wife, partner or if you even want one. How are you going to juggle ALL of the listed things while still trying to have a life? Add up the hours per day just using a VED to keep your penis healthy. Looks to me like some of the members are taking 1-2 hours per day. Oh, you mention that an implant is not reversable. I ask you why in the world would you even WANT to return to what you have??? Is it cozy enough that you want to go back? I've read untold numbers of members say that if their implant fails that they'll be at the surgeons office tomorrow morning for a new one. That alone should scream successfull & happy owners.
Best of luck to you. Don't be offended by my straight talk. I'm just trying to spell it out in realistic terms.

Would any ladies who's partners have a bionic penis opt for going back to a normal penis without ED?

One advantage that an implanted penis has over an unimplanted one is that one can customize the degree of erection. You can have, at will, every degree of tumescence possible. One guy here called it "Dial-a-Dick".

Some women might like to be able to play with a "squishy toy" penis for foreplay (or afterplay) in addition to a fully erect penis.

... say hypothetically you had a choice of going back to a normal penis without ED ...Benefit of going back to a normal penis would be that it would not be a mechanical process to achieve an erection as is with an implant.

Most men here look back on the days when their penis worked (unimplanted) naturally with the wish to be able to return to those days, no matter how well their now-implanted penises work.

Going from a non-functioning penis to an implanted penis has been, for almost all men, a big step up.

Going from a functioning penis to an implanted penis is, for most here, a ridiculous idea.
