Disappointed but not

Postby truckrglenn » Fri Nov 27, 2020 12:10 am

Well I'm at 7 weeks 2 days and still sore, bruised and swollen. Can not inflate more than 3 pumps. Then I'd have to sit in a hot tub for my scrotum to relax just to be able to find and squeeze the deflate button.

I was in the hospital over the weekend for a bladder infection. They called my Urologist/Surgeon who stopped in to see me just to make sure that the implant didn't cause the infection.

Boy was he not happy with me. Told me no more hot baths and not to try and inflate the implant again.

Talked with the AMS rep the other day. Seems like most of you fast healers are the exception. And that most implants take more then 6 week to be fully healed.

I guess that I'm just disappointed that I'm taking this long to heal. After all, 2 weeks after my triple bypass I was riding my Harley. Without permission, but still.

Happy Thanksgiving

Maybe you can try Arnica and Bromelain. It's known for anti-bruising effects and taken by people who do surgery for speeding up the recovery. Also if you usung blood thinning food, like garlic, ginger and alcohol try to eliminate them.

Good luck

Other natural blood thinners are fish oil, turmeric and vitamin E.

Everyone is very different on the recovery continuum. Your surgeon's technique, particular experiences and skill set, and your own unique anatomy are all variables. Don't beat yourself up - just do the recovery work you need to do. Having said that...

I'm a little concerned for you at 7 weeks to effectively not have been able yet to really significantly inflate. It's important to get cycling going for all the reasons I'm sure you've read here.

I had a ridiculously easy and quick recovery in terms of the surgical trauma (incision site, shaft, etc) but I struggled in the early going (weeks 4-6 post op) to figure out the inflate/deflate. In my situation I wasn't limited by any pain, just by residual swelling in my sac. It made discerning the buttons difficult, and they were oriented a bit oddly. So I didn't really get on the inflate/deflate program until about week 6 and my surgeon was really pushing me at that point in time to suck it all up and just get it moving.

Some fairly remarkable distal/glans discomfort and a little bit of shaft discomfort at beginning. That first week I could barely max inflate for 10 minutes. It hurt enough that I
was in a big ass hurry to deflate.

But very quickly, over just a few weeks, I was able to keep adding longer and longer full inflation times to the regimen. The more I cycled fully to max, and the longer I held it, things really moved forward pretty quickly. Every week was a measurable gain and more time inflated with less and less discomfort.

Hoping you can get fully inflated very soon, just getting yourself over that first hump of maxing it out and sitting with it awhile...repeat, repeat, repeat. It seems a bit daunting but you'll get there.

I think if you are finding over the next week or two that you still cannot fully inflate, for whatever reason, I do think it'd be advisable to reconnect with your doc and dig in to why you're feeling the barrier to inflating. I had to do this. At one point I had my surgeon, his fellow, and their PA all tutoring me, very very hands-on, at the same time, on how to navigate the prosthesis and how to inflate/deflate. They were wonderful people and incredibly helpful. But god almighty, I had to drop any inhibitions and just have a sense of humor. Hands all over your sac. Doing a solo demonstration for them of how you are trying to do what you do. Getting corrections. I don't know. I was at a point where I was desperate to figure it out and while things were sore...for sure...they definitely helped me figure it out and from there the confidence just took off in a very positive way.

Good luck to you!

I knew that I should of had a female surgeon.

Just kidding, my next appointment is tomorrow 11/30.

I do know that my surgeon preforms a few of these surgeries a month. I'll ask tomorrow.

I do seem to have an ever changing scrotum. Some days it's loose others it's tight. The AMS rep felt like I was doing ok after speaking with her. I'm sure that she talks with a lot more patients than there are users on here. I'll know more after Monday.

To Swankyswanks...
Holy Moly, man! You've had sex THREE (3) times within the first four weeks after surgery!! No wonder you've been sore! I wasn't cleared to start having sex again until SIX (6) weeks post-op!! BTW, glad you're healed up enough to be pimping again!!!
