Day 17 Ambicor progress and insurance

I'm almost back to normal. Pain has been gone for 4 days. I still have a way to go on accessing the pump. The interesting thing about the Ambicor is I have a sense of an erection full time, without even pumping.

Another thing that I found out. Total billing by Baylor, Scott, and White Hospital in Plano to my insurance was $70,747. That was breath taking. BSW was paid $17,504 by my provider. They indicate my portion is $325. Is this what others have seen while on Medicare??? My employer based insurance didn't cover the implant at all. So I postponed this surgery for about 2 years, until I reached 65.

I still believe that not having a drain right after surgery extended the recovery, but I am satisfied with progress. My doctor was a surprised at the extent of the swelling post op. I am still off my blood thinners, due to the concern about healing while on them. Just watching my Vitamin K intake, and limiting activity. I hope to restart them within the next week.

Without this forum, I would have never proceeded with this implant. You are all a great support system and your input and feedback are so important. I took a lot of suggestions and implemented them. I feel great and I am looking forward to the future without concern for E.D.

Glad to hear you're pain free!! Interesting that you got the Ambicor, not many members on here get the 2 piece Ambicor model. Did the surgeon say why he went with that one and not the 3 piece? When will you start pumping?

I have a fem to fem bypass that feeds my left leg from my right due to a complete blockage of my left illiac artery. This bypass runs right above the base of my penis. My vascular doctor, my family doctor, and a second implant specialist all felt it dangerous to implant a reservoir in the area. My surgeon even chose to do a scrotal access rather than infrapubic access to avoid any chance of disrupting the bypass. It seems that even the Coloplast and AMS reps had never encountered this challenge. I really appreciate the concern and care to not damage the bypass. I could lose my left leg if blood flow were impacted. It also negated the need for a vascular surgeon from being present and any need to be an inpatient. It was the right decision.

As you are probably the only person ive seen here with a 2-piece....may i ask:
Lost length?
Lost girth?
How would you rate the rigidity? Can you still bend your implant when fully inflated?
