Got the bill today for the implant... for surgery and the overnight stay = $59,129.81!
Insurance paid $15,436.38. I owe, $250.00... which I think should be totally prorated by the actual number of days I had it inside of me (20 to be exact)
And don't ask me what happens to the $43,443.43 disallowed by the insurance company, none of this billing stuff makes one bit of sense to me!!!
Oh and another $250 co-pay to remove it. Sigh...

How much did that cost?
51, San Francisco
Diabetic: used pills & injections.
2 TURP surgeries caused Peyronie's. 1st implant lost to infection, 2nd one is about 5 years old. But "floppy head" due to all the scar tissue, couldn't get tips all the way up.

Re: How much did that cost?
Hospital bill was $50,000.00 and change. Not including Dr Eid. Medicare paid it all. I owe Dr Eid a few hundred as he is not on my secondary plan. I will be asking the hospital for an itemized bill just for the entertainment. Total cost to me, to include some Dr appts last year when I had not yet met the anual deductible, is about $800.00. Not bad at all.
Re: How much did that cost?
I was implanted with the Coloplast Titan in December 2007 at Hackensack UMC in New Jersey.
Dr. Hossein Sadeghi-Nejad was my Implant Surgeon and Dr. Massimo Napolitano (Chief of Vascular Surgery) performed an Abdominal Wall Hernia Repair under the same anesthesia.
Between Medicare and Supplemental Medicare Policy (UnitedHealth Care) my total out of pocket expense was Zero.
Hope this is helpful.

Re: How much did that cost?
Oh, bill came for the removal, just over $51,000.
So $110,000 for 20 days of ownership (so to speak) and never even got to use it!
I think the whole thing should be prorated by the number of days it was in me
