Smphead,
Yes, 22ga. does seem large, BUT no issues. Remember that the testosterone liquid is thick, and a smaller gauge syringe will make it harder to draw and to administer.
Again, I don't have any problems. Been on TRT over 3 years.

For how long are you on injections now? 22g is like a harpoon, doesn't it hurt a lot and how about scar tissue?
You guys need to be more creative. Yes, 22g is big. But why use it. People say its easier to fill the syringe with a 22g. No kidding but nothing says that you have to use that size to inject with.
Here is my tried & true method. The pharmacist offers me 25g needle & syringe then offers a 22g needle to fill that syringe. I've learned a better (for me) way. I buy the 25g setup. Yes, its slow to fill but try this. I inject a full syringe, sometimes 2, of air into the bottle. I use the 200 strength so the bottle only holds 1ml. The pressure speeds up the filling of the syringe. Yes, it does take some strength to inject thru the 25g but I don't mind it.
Once I'm done injecting. I promptly fill the syringe for next weeks shot. When next week arrives. I use the fresh SHARP needle to inject with. Pushing a new needle thru the rubber seal of the bottle dulls it a bit. Once I've injected. I use that needle to fill the next syringe & use the fresh sharp needle to inject with the following week.
I'm on Medicare but my retirements legacy health insurance pays for 2 1ml bottles with a $7 co-pay for a months worth.

Just an FYI since it seams like a lot of us older guys are on testosterone replacement with injections. Did injections for over a year. My nuts started shrinking and getting soft along with thick blood.
Read about urologists giving you clomid and anasterozole. Take a pill 3 times a week and another one once. It tells your body to start producing testosterone again somehow.
Clomid is an off book treatment. I stopped injecting t mid Jan. And started a trial on clomid. March 9th my testosterone was at 695. Just under normal.
It doesn't work for all but appears to be working for me. Also not many side affects.
And my balls are getting harder. Noidea they even could work after my fall. My urologist was a bit skeptical but said he would prescribe the clomid for a trial basis.
So far so good on it. Time will tell.

Re: Those on TRT with an implant
My T levels were about 120 so tried creams for 6 months… no change started injecting 200mg/ml , 1 mil every other week. Noticed a roller coaster effect with libedo and overall feeling. After 2 years of this I now do 1/2 ml once a week and have leveled out with libedo and overall way I feel. Last two tests were in the 650 range on 6th day after shot. I use a 18ga needle to draw and a 22 ga to administer in thigh alternating every week. I have BCBS of Illinois and get “T” from express scripts and it cost me nothing and also get syringes and for some reason I get charged a total of .75. Yes 75 cents by express scripts for syringes…been on TRT for about 4 years now and my balls are a little bigger than mArbles…. Oh well will be more room for the pump I hope to get placed there in the next 6-8 weeks.

Re: Those on TRT with an implant
Did you find any reason why your T levels were so low?
Also, it seems like Dr Eid only recommends T replacement in very special circumstances:
"Dr. Eid only offers hormone replacement therapy in very severe circumstances. Hormone replacement therapy for men often causes intolerable side effects."
https://www.urologicalcare.com/services ... stosterone
For those that had him as a doctor, I'm wondering why those circumstances might be?

Here's the paragraph above the one you quoted:
"Depending on the activity in your pituitary gland and thyroid, Dr. Eid may recommend treatments to ensure you have sufficient levels of the hormones that contribute to testosterone production. Dr. Eid only offers hormone replacement therapy in very severe circumstances. Hormone replacement therapy for men often causes intolerable side effects."
My guess from reading that is he's a big proponent of using SERMs like clomid to try to increase the natural production of testosterone. The problem is, if he's worried about "intolerable" side effects, they tend to be way worse and way more common with clomid than with appropriately dosed TRT.

Thanks @RoboCock69: a question for you - do you have any concerns around fertility with TRT? Or maybe that's not an issue for you?

Re: Those on TRT with an implant
Here is my guess on his position. If he is treating you for low testosterone? The prescription needs to be renewed. Normally at yearly intervals. Since few of his patients are local & few would travel back to NYC for an office visit for the Tes. He likely feels that if you need/want trt that you'd be better served by a local to you doc.
Basically, why bother? Its not part of his core business & probably is a net loss of time to his practice. After all, he is a businessman also.
