Pill Give 75% Erection & Sex is Stressful = Cause for Implant?

Guys,

My mind is 80% made up that I need and want an implant. I've got a lingering thing in my head that I'm hoping some guys can help me clear up. I think I already know the "answer" (as if there's one right answer), but honestly sometimes you just need a little affirmation/courage from guys who've been there.

I see some implanted guys who say that pills did nothing and injections eventually didn't either, so the implant truly was their only option to having any sex at all.

I'm a little different. I can get an erection with pills and have sex with my wife. But there are a few problems:

1) The erection isn't satisfying to me. I'd call it 75%. I can't change positions with it; can't have sex standing up; and just don't feel great about what I'm giving my wife.
2) It takes a lot of pills to get that 75% erection. To get it this morning, I took 160mg Sildenafil (8 x 20mg pills) ... and that's only because my daily 5mg Tadalafil did not work for me last night.
3) Sex for me in this state is entirely centered around stress, doubt ("will it work?") and focusing on my penis instead of my partner.
4) My shaky erections are having an impact on my partner, I believe. She hasn't said this, but I know they are. I can tell that as we do foreplay there's hesitancy in her demeanor (is this going to work?).
5) I'm depressed, have low self esteem, and insecurity issues 100% caused by my ED. The pills do nothing to help this due to their ineffectiveness.

A cause for my ED has not been found. But ED is ED, I feel.

My question boils down to this: Can I move forward to the implant with peace knowing that pills really have "failed"? (Note: I won't consider injections.) Is all of the above "enough" to just get an implant? Were any of you guys in a similar position?

Pills and injections failed for me after some use. Pills were ok for about 3 years then besides failures gave me migraines. Started injections and that was something I said I would never do, but...... Those worked for about 3 years then began failing even as I increased the dosage to the point my penis would ache the next day. Stronger formula worked for maybe 3 months. I was getting depressed; the wife wasn't being kept happy, and all that led to some bad things said between us. But the wife totally supported me through my decision to get the implant, and things are so much better now.
On a side note, most insurances are unwilling to pay for an implant. They usually want to see that you have tried everything available first. Yes, that means injections sorry. If you have to go that route, consider an autoinjector. First thing I suggest is find a good urologist who deals with men's sexual issues. They can diagnose if there is a physical issue causing poor erections.

I understand you perfectly. I also faced the same scenario.
The tablets gave me erections, but not for sure, and difficult to change position at the risk of losing it, and always this terrible uncertainty before any report. It's the ultimate discomfort! Not knowing if...

In my view, this uncertainty alone justifies an implantation.
Total freedom of the mind is priceless!

The classic trajectory to implant is pills -> trimix -> implant. Sometime VED/constriction rings are in there, sometimes not.

But that ISN’T a requirement. If you aren’t interested in trying injections or find the lack of spontaneity a deal breaker (you are already in that situation now needing to take pills and wait for them to kick in) then it’s time for an implant.

I find a good cockring is really helpful. I’m not talking about a constriction ring used with a medical VED, just a good cockring from a decent sex shop. I suspect it helps keep the blood that flows into my cock from escaping as quickly.

Having an implant will allow you to have a hardon of whatever rigidity you want, whenever you want, for as long as you want. That sounds much better than the situation you are in now. If you felt like you have exhausted the other options (cock rings, VED, injections) then it’s time for an implant.

My accident left me in a similar situation.I pulled the trigger and was second guessing myself even while sitting on the table getting ready to be put under. After it was done and I was in the healing process I figured there was no point in second guessing now…..

I can relate to this post. I can still have sex with 60mg of Sildalifil which makes me feel like shit. My curve limits positions to Mish with her legs pushed way back. So do I just live with status quo or just move on to implant which will help the curve and ED….that’s what I’m pondering.

I was 32 when my ED started.

At first, pills worked pretty well.

But as time went on, they worked less and less effectively. It got to the point where in the last few years before my implant, I rarely got a reliable hard on, even with a combination of Levitra and a cock ring.

I'm also 32, got my implant 9 months ago when I was 31, and your symptoms sound like about where I was at. It was still possible to have sex with pills, but my erection would fade during sex and was never like a 100% raging hard-on. I did try injections but they didn't really work either. Th implant has been incredible and I am so thankful to have it.
