My ED started roughly 12 years ago, around 2010 at the age of 29. Most likely explanation for it was uncontrolled diabetes. At the time, I was married to my first wife, and we hadn’t been having sex for 3 or 4 years anyway, so I didn’t do anything about it, I could still climax when masturbating, but got zero erection.
Fast forward, divorce, and I’m dating someone new, so I go to doctor for it. General practitioner, not Urologist. Blood tests, testosterone, heart, everything fine. Get various prescriptions for pills over the next month, none of them have the slightest effect. At the time I just assumed my insurance wouldn’t cover an implant, should of checked, but many of you will know how lazy a guy can be! I ordered a medical pump online, it gives me an erect ion, but even with the smallest ring, when I release the vacuum, I maintain only a partial erection, not stiff enough for penetration.
Now I’m married to her, been together 5 years, married for 4, and we have never had intercourse. We’ve gotten creative and things have been fine, but not having standard intercourse has always been rolling through my head and bothering me, even though she says she’s fine with it. She knew about it before we were married obviously, so I guess I can believe her, or we wouldn’t have gotten married.
Last year I started suffering from severe depression, probably plenty of reasons for it, but I believe ED had a LOT to do with it. I got to the point of being suicidal, but got on meds, and a bit of therapy, and have overcome it, at-least as much as one can….
I start looking into implants, and find that most insurance covers it now. A few phone calls later, and I’m waiting for a DR appointment. Set it up in October or November, and couldn’t get in till April!
Had my appointment a couple of days ago. Dr. Says I’m a good candidate, and surgery is now scheduled for June 22nd. Wish I had done this earlier, I have 12 years of atrophy, I’m not very hopeful about either length or girth, but I still think I’ll prefer it to what I have right now!

Keep up the pumping to possibly reverse the atrophy, and good luck along your journey.

Sharpes,
I absolutely agree with "tomas1" about using a VED, especially prior to getting your implant.
Suggestion, Use the VED twice a day for 20-30 minutes. Don't exceed 5" of vacuum. Release the vacuum often and massage the penis to promote blood flow.

Will that help in maximizing the size before implant? Also how long before implant should we use?

Everything I've read online says yes. It replaces the erections you normally get during your sleep; I don't get any at all.

My Dr said to stop pumping 2 weeks before surgery to reduce bleeding risks.

Dude, you will love the result. Mine works perfect. Just done Mar 16, pretty much fully comfortable with all the extra parts. Cycled a little at 2 weeks , used at 3 1/2 a little, full tilt boogie at 1 month, keep pumping and you will reverse a little of the atrophy.
You will really enjoy this...

Good afternoon. Tomorrow is my pre op appointment. My doctor won’t be there, it’s at the hospital. Any questions I need to ask? I’ll make sure they know my medications, and that I am allergic to penicillin, anything I’m not thinking of?
Surgery is next Wednesday. Looking forward to it without actually looking forward to it if you know what I mean…

Also, when using ice once home and in bed, did you wear anything in bed? Underwear, pajamas, or just the bandages? Did you put ice directly on, or put a towel between or something?
Thanks
Thanks
