How long off work?

Postby niall4473 » Fri May 27, 2022 7:06 pm

Post implant , how long must you be off work on doctors orders, manual work, dirty job?
Onset of ED at age 46, no erection since, pills, VED , Injections, no luck, not even once.
Implanted 19.04.2023 in UK, with Rigicon Infla 10 AX, not functioning so far, still hopeful.

Niall4473,
If your doctor has been told what profession you are going to return to, after your implant procedure, he or she will dictate the length of time needed to recover.
Bear in mind that getting an implant is a major surgery and there are risks. Every man is different and every procedure is different. It is extremely important that the medical professional's instructions are followed "to the letter".
To be perfectly clear, there has been a lot of information here and elsewhere that might indicate you should " just play it by ear".
DON'T.

Yes of course, I was just hoping for a general idea.

I’m scheduled for my surgery June 16th. I’m taking off June 15th through July 17th, about 4 1/2 weeks. I’m going to be “inflated” for 3 weeks and don’t want to be out for 2 weeks and then show back up walking around with an erection! I have more than enough leave time saved up so it’s convenient for me to do that. Right now my main priority in life is getting this issue fixed and behind me and I don’t care how long I have to take off in order to get the best outcome.

Good luck with yours!

My Dr told me no lifting over 10 lbs. For 4 weeks and being partially inflated for first 6 weeks after surgery is little aggravating. Just being comfortable is hard to accomplish but after 2 weeks I'm doing ok with it. I am a field engineer for solar power. I have to fly and travel a lot so I'm staying off until I can deflate. I feel like if I had a desk job I'd be fine going back already. Having some good supportive and soft underwear is key. Duluth trading company is best I've found.

I work from home while visiting customers so I understand the challenge. I am pretty much not planning to leave my house for a while.
52 year old man who has struggled with erections for years. Got implanted on May 27 after pills and injections stopped working.

I'm a fireman. I asked my doctor and he said 6 weeks minimum. I could slack off for a few weeks but knowing my luck I would get a general alarm fire as soon as i got back to duty.
55 yrs old. Prostiva procedure (enlarged prostate surgery) June 2019. Also hard flaccid issues. Working thru it (massage/yoga/exercise) and getting better and more mentally positive. Still experiencing ED, hate pills but i'm gonna figure out a way.

I’m 12 days post now and I drive a fork truck on relatively smooth floors 8-10 out of 12 hour shift. That being said I had originally thought and Dr had said probably return to work after 2 weeks. I had a terrible fall 3weeks prior to implant which required major shoulder rotator cuff muscle repair and a broken shoulder so won’t be back work for 6-8 more weeks at best, so not concerned with implant and return to work, but…… if I had to ho back at 2 weeks I would be calling off or using sick days as I’m slightly pumped and it’s difficult to put your junk in any position that comfortable for more than an hour without reorganization.. I would think probably at 3 weeks but every body is different in the way they are implanted and the way they heal so if I had to plan I would personally say 2-3 weeks if you physically work but probably 2 if you had a deal job
59 years old ED started mid 40s pills failed after 10 years. Injections works but diminishing results with pain. Implanted 5-22 Baylor,Scott, and White Dallas.Dr Michael Wierschem, infrapubic Coloplast 20cm and 1cm RTE. Going strong and loving it!
