TSA

Postby biobob » Mon Jun 27, 2022 5:53 am

I traveled from Virginia to Florida Last week, leaving Virginia the TSA scanner lit up my implant.
The TSA inspection said he needed to give me a back of hand inspection.
He then grabbed my dick and said what is this?
I said my dick and he jumped back and said go through.
Coming back the scanner again picked up my implant and I was given another back of hand inspection. Then I was taken to a private room with 2 agents 1 older and 1 younger. The younger one gave me the "sorry this is really stupid" look. After 5 minutes of inspection the lead agent said "we need to know what "that" is. I said OK and pulled down my pants. The younger agent said "nice" and the older agent said "sorry".

I get flagged every time I go through the full body scanner but never pulled to the private room. I get the back of hand pat down and asked “Is this you?” No a big deal until you travel with the same group of office mates and they begin to question “why so many pat downs?”

I've been wondering if the scanners at airports would pick up the implant. Got a trip coming up out of the country. Guess I better wear loose pants huh? Wonder if I flash my Coloplast card will avoid a pat down?

AMS700 for nearly three years with at least 25 RT flights - not once has a TSA detector tripped as a result of my implant.

In the event of - I always have a screen shot of the device manufacturer card and serial / lot # on my phone.

9 flights since going bionic. Tripped the alarm 8 times. Never gone beyond the back of the hand screening & the explosive detection wipes. Some TSA agents seem a bit more willing to feel around than others.

Its like 50/50 for me to trip the scanner. When it happens I just tell them exactly what the situation is. I get the private room pat-down and the explosive strips. I think if you get TSA pre-pass or whatever you don't have to go through the scanner that will pick up the implant (just a metal detector). Its like $85 or something. I haven't done this yet as I don't feel uncomfortable by these situations but I could see if I am running late for a flight then this could make me miss the flight.
Titan OTR. Dr. Hakky - successful surgery and very happy with outcome.
My advice: choose a world-class surgeon and make yourself the healthiest you can.

If you fly more than once a year, get TSA precheck. You just go through a metal detector which is not triggered by the implant. You also get the benefit of much shorter lines, keeping your shoes on, laptop stays in bag, etc. Totally worth $85 every 5 years especially when you add in the hassle of additional pat downs due to the scanner picking up the implant.

Guess I'm just going to have to take my chances on my implant tripping one of the TSA scans. This is a once in a lifetime trip, and doubt I'll ever fly again. But we are going first class and have pre-check passes.
