What do I use to preserve lenght before getting an implant, VED or Traction?
After years of having penis fibrosis I'm really thinking getting an implant, do I use a traction device daily or a VED daily to preserve the lenght?. I read in an article that the VED may increase corporal fibrosis, I don't know what to do
I had a trauma 2 years ago, caused me narrowing, dent and shortening. PRP injections three months ago=worse narrowing, and worse ED. Now I only have two choices: impotent or implant. Born in 1975, in a relationship with girlfriend fir 4 years

I believe applying vacuum to the penis emulates a natural erection better than traction.
Traction is only in one direction, which is not analagous to a natural erection since it does not fill out girth or engorge tissues.
Applying vacuum allows your own blood pressure to fill/engorge the penile tissues more like a natural erection.
Both traction and vacuum have been known to cause damage if overdone.
The foregoing are my opinions, informed by my research, but I am still just a layman. Check with your surgeon for more authoratative information. Of course, Franktalk has a huge amount of men's anecdotes and those stories have been commented on by many others, so are probably pretty reliable.
As always, believe onl half of what you see, one quarter of what you hear and that goes double for anything you get from the internet not from authoratative sources.
Note: There are studies reported in legitimate, peer-reviewed medical journals that support the use of VEDs for about 60 days before implant. Reduces size loss and has the potential for making insertion of the implant easier for the surgeon and recovery easier for the patient.

From what I read on FT, it does help preserve length. I had implant surgery just 2 weeks ago, so I am still waiting to see. Before my surgery, I used a VED nightly for about 3 weeks. I also read that it would help with pain post surgery and also make the surgery easier for the surgeon. I must say I thought I would be in a lot more pain afterwards. Recovery for me has been pretty easy so far. Maybe using the VED before surgery really did help with recovery pain.
59 years old married to a wonderful wife. Diagnosed at 54 with Prostate Cancer. Radical Prostatectomy in 07/18. ED since surgery. Pills, pumps and injections worked at first but eventually failed. Coloplast Titan Touch implanted on June 23,2020.

Very interesting. I wonder if anyone else had similar results?

Re: What do I use to preserve lenght before getting an implant, VED or Traction?
I had a prostatectomy two years ago. Before the surgery my doctor gave me an instructions sheet for penile rehabilitation that consisted of where to order a VED, and basically said to use it. The intent of the VED is to pull oxygenated blood into your penis to make up for the lack of nocturnal erections. The lack of nocturnal erections, and thus, oxygenated blood flow into the penis can/will cause atrophy, which in turn causes loss of elasticity/length/girth.
Just do an internet search for “penile rehabilitation” and you will find all the research and procedures you need.
I used the VED at least twice a day starting 3 weeks after my prostatectomy until the morning before my implant surgery; two years! I’m 22 days post implant surgery today and I’m still partially inflated. I will go back to the doctor Tuesday to learn how to operate the new hardware and get a better idea of how the end result will look. So far, I’m expecting not to have lost anything. I’m very anxious though.
