8 month update post implant

Postby Matthew » Tue May 07, 2013 12:21 pm

So in the last few weeks it seems I can pump a little more and I have reconnected with a little more pain from it. I figured I had topped out for size but I am wondering. I get about 25 or so pumps and then after 30 minutes the pain comes again. The pain at full pump had lessened for a couple months so I thought I was done stretching but now it is back. Has anyone else experienced this? I do have the AMS 700 unit. I am a little scared to pump to hard. I mean I do not want to bust pump bulb.

Yes, I had a similar experience at 8 months with my Titan, able to pump more but with a little added discomfort. I figured that this must be a good thing.

My guess is that the pump mechanism is designed and built to handle any amount of pressure you can put on the bulb. Ask your doc to be sure.

I've never heard of anyone busting a pump bulb. Nor have I read of any doctor warning about it. Nor do any of the manufacturers warn about it. I can't imagine you could bust it unless it was defective to begin with.

Even at one year plus, I can generate a slight bit of discomfort by pumping to the max (as hard as I possibly can), and then waiting a few minutes and maxing it again, and maybe a third time. At this point I don't pump to the max daily any more, which I did for about the first year in order to make sure scar tissue didn't inhibit operation. (I also deflated to the max daily too, for the same reason). I also find that if I go for a while (week or 10 days) without pushing it to the max, I will have more discomfort from pumping to the max, but after a day or two of therapy (ie pumping to the max) its better again.

FYI I did read about a guy who, at about 9 months post op, was pumping to the max, felt a painful pop, and after a day or two found the pain was gone but his girth had expanded noticeably. He surmised that some scar tissue gave way. That's something I hoped might happen to me, since my girth isn't that great (4 5/8 to 4 3/4), but it hasn't.

I guess I should add, I don't pump to the max for sex, since my partners have never liked it that hard.
