A question I haven't seen yet.
So, after being on this forum for several years I've seen where men have had botched surgeries, tough recoveries, unfortunate breakdowns and a few that have had three or more revisions. The question on my mind is that "is there anyone who an implant has not worked out for?" I know one gentleman here had a stroke or heart attack and never used it because he lost interest. I guess my concern would be more about having the implant removed for reason "X" and just being done with sex after that.
Fifty-one years old. ED started at age forty. I took Cialis for eight years and used Trimix for almost three. Implanted 12/6/22 by Dr. Jonathan Clavell. AMS 700CX 21cm.
Re: A question I haven't seen yet.
Remember that the posts you see here about failures, tough recoveries and botched surgeries are the ones who post about them for others to be aware of. Very few guys who have a good working implant don't post how much they like it. Usually if an inflatable implant fails it's replaced with a malleable implant before another inflatable is implanted. If the implant is just removed, you'll be left with a lifeless penis only good for peeing.
My take is without the implant I would have already had to give up sex. If I get 10 years of use from it, that's wonderful. If it breaks in 5 years, it will be replaced. And I was one who had a tough recovery.
Added- there are probably a lot of guys who have implants that don't even know about FT. I didn't find this forum until 5 months after my implant.

so doc number 2 who laughed and told me he would shrink me 2 inches if he wanted to then related about this patient who came to him after 2 weeks begging to take it out. He told the man that at that point he would be in that much pain for another 2 weeks just wait a few days and you'll be fine. close as I can come. Hope that helps

As a guy with one botched implant, 2 failures and 3 revisions I'll just say....I have several "successes" every week.....it's been worth it!

@LMCATMAN
I am curious why so many Titan failures? Had mine inserted June 1st. I met Dr Perito but went with someone else.

Unsuccessful revision. Implant surgery left me with a crooked dick. Dr. kept stalling for a year-and-a-half saying it would straighten up or that I wasn't using it enough. I finally opted for revision surgery and here's what I got. Straightens out and works OK, but still rolls over and leans left. Dr. says I'll just have to live with it. I think his PA may have done revision and/or implant. Photo shows immediately after revision; stitches still in.

From that picture, it looks like time for a second opinion from two sources. A surgeon with skills and a medical malpractice attrorney. Maybe not to sue anyone, but just to know what options you have for leaning on the first surgeon for a job not wel done. Just a letter to the AMA or whatever professional organizations to to which he/she belongs should be in order.
Also, have you contacted the Patient Liaison for the manufacturer of your implant and shared that picture and the communications you had with the surgeon? That would be my FIRST step. I don't know why I did not put that first. Perhaps I figured you already did that. The makers have a VERY high interest in satisfied patients/clients.
Edited to add: Upon viewing your picture again, it appears to my definitely untrained eye that an implant would have a very difficult time bending like that when pumped up. Unless you have scar tissue or something. Tissue like that should have been treated during the implant surgery, though. Does the operating report describe anatomical abnormalities observed during thhe surgery? "Not using it enough" is like a mechanic telling a car owner with sterring that pulls to the left that he is not driving fast enough around right-hand curves. It is possible that extreme inflation might straighten your penis more, but for a surgeon to recommend a "hail Mary" solution like that is just ridiculous. It sounds to me like he is trying to cover up his omission of proper "standards of care" as definced by good medical practices. He nees to be called out, I think. But in a way
that (diplommatically) has a high likelihood of success for you. That is where a lawyer or the Patient Liaison can give advice to you (and short of going to court).

Re: A question I haven't seen yet.
Thanks for the suggestions. I got a second opinion before the revision who advised me to go ahead with it.
I called two med mal attys and didn't get a return call from either.
BUT, I hadn't thought about contacting the manufacturer and will do so tomorrow.

Bummer about the neglect of the attorneys. Some attorneys are afraiid to sue other attorneys. Attorneys too timid to sue other professionals of any stripe should take down their shingles. (My opinion)
Good luck with the patient Liaison.
What manufacturer? Coloplast is generally considered better at straightening bent penises than AMS. Coloplast starts out with a material that is stiffer all by itself. Makes it less convenient in everyday life than the AMSs, but does stay straighter when flaccid and when inflated. As I understand it, some surgeons (and some medical insurance companies or systems) favor or are limited to one manufacturer or another. High-volume surgeons often have a choice of which to use. Honest surgeons, if they see that the one to which they are limited will tell you to choose another surgeon who CAN use the more appropriate manufacturer's device. Ethics demands it. Not all surgeons answer that call. Drl Eid wrote to me this advice, "Find a surgeon in love with his craft." He went on to say that such a surgeon would put the welfare of his patient ahead of all other considerations. You don't necessarily need a high-volume surgeon, but EVERYONE needs a surgeon so dedicated. Especially if there are complications such as you apparantly have.

Re: A question I haven't seen yet.
Just to clarify; the photo shows it NOT pumped up. The place where the bend starts feels like the end of the cylinder. He's told me that he used different length cylinders on either side of the shaft. He has done hundreds of implants, exclusively, in a large urban practice, examined me twice before the implant, and did not note any abnormalities - because there were none. I should know, right? I've been using it for nearly 70 yrs. He's been stringing me along for over a year, since 2/21 with the "it'll get better" routine. He's retiring so he may be training his PA to do the implants. During the revision, they moved the bulb and rerouted the tubing because they were misplaced, still defending his decision to use different cylinders.
It's the AMS, but it was not at all crooked before the implant.
