mental impact of implant

Postby whatisthislife » Thu Oct 27, 2022 12:09 pm

so i know that an implant is in my future given my spinal cord injury (pills and injections dont work). how did/do you deal with the emotional and mental impacts that this journey has? i know that after i get the implant it wont be an instant fix to the lack of confidence and depression that im dealing with now. did you see a sex therapist or councillor about it? i just know that even after i get the implant i wont feel normal

I just received an implant.

I feel normal, but with an implant.

The best way I found was evaluation, information and management of expectations.

Expectations:
Is there a different and less aggressive solution in the near future? The answer I found was no.
Does any surgeon guarantee that you will maintain or increase the length and thickness that your penis will have?
The answer I found was no, on the contrary, everyone warns you of some losses, but a gain in functionality.

Information and evaluation:

What is achieved by reading sites like FT and medical-scientific studies

It is an example of how you build your decision scenario.

Fears... You can put as many as you want to imagine, apart from the real ones, but you have to weigh the benefits according to your definition of having a good experience in sex.

For many of us it is new, I had a good friend in college in the early 80's who told us about his dad's implant (malleable) and how much of a womanizer he had become (he was divorced), a lot of men have gone through this process , which does not mean that it is exempt from risks that you must evaluate to make your decisions

Implants certainly aren't an instant fix if the source of your depression is erectile dysfunction.
But they are a guaranteed fix to that problem after only a few months. You will be able to get hard and stay hard as long as you want.

If your depression is mostly related to other life issues, then an implant will not hurt, but it probably won't solve them either. What will, though, is exercise. Honestly, I know out-of-shape (fat) people get tired of being told to do that over and over, but the reason you're always told that, is......because it fucking works. Eat better and go to the gym, or at least walks or whatever. Keep doing that for a month or so, you'll recognize the improvements and wanna stay committed. You'll thank me later, np.

It’s life changing in bed.

Yes, I struggled with the idea of a plastic dick. After almost ruining my “natural” dick with injections, my doc flat out told me if I continued down the injection path the plaque and other issues would only get worst.

After that conversation, ok, it took place as he struggled to get a drain into my 12 hours erection, I didn’t look back, went for my implant

It’s been great. There’s nothing better than to hear my partner tell me how good it feels during sex.

Being able to fuck at anytime has been a game changer…yes, mentally as well.

Don't want to get your hopes too high...but it is a life changer. Knowing that you can fuck as much and as hard as you like at a moment's notice would improve anyone's mood significantly. If ED is a major factor in your depression, then I think IPP could improve your mood tremendously.
