Can't figure out my Coloplast Titan with deflation

Had my Coloplast Titan installed 4 weeks ago. Still in the exploring stage. Can't figure out how the deflation works. Am only able to reach one of the side buttons. Cant figure out how to reach the other side button. I assume both buttons need to be pressed at same time? Any tricks and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

My wife (a nurse) had to pump and deflate it for me after I started cycling. It took me awhile to get the hang of it and feel comfortable. I press in on both sides with a slight downward pull while squeezing my penis gently with the other hand.

You do have to press on both sides of the deflation bar, but at 4 weeks it is not easy because you are still swollen and inflamed. The problem is the more you mess with it the more inflamed the tissue will get. There really isn’t any rush to start cycling, if you are too sore just wait a few days and try it again, the delay will not hurt your progress. As you heal, it will become easier. At 4 weeks I tried it a few times and I was just getting more and more sore so I left it alone for a week then it was a lot easier. Don’t get upset if you have to delay.

The Titan only has one button. It's on the side of the solid piece above the bulb. Someone posted a pic of a Titan in a thread here recently which shows where parts are located.
When I deflate I grab the pump in my left hand and use my left thumb to press the button. While holding the button down I squeeze my shaft to push the fluid back into the reservoir. For a bit of comfort I wrap a layer of towel over my shaft. It takes 30-45 seconds to deflate fully.

You should also be able to look at your doctors notes and read how they positioned it. I say that but mine seems to be backwards, meaning that my button faces the back. This actually works out better for me as I'm able to cradle the bulb on my right ring finger, seccure the bulb with my middle finger and use my thumb and pointer finger to give a nice firm press. I'm only starting my 3rd week post op. I have low pain but huge balls at this point. Someone recommended dry heat. I purchased a red hot water bottle that i sit my whole sac on with a Tshirt wrapped around the hot water bag. This relaxes the swelling mass and allows me to find things and move them around. Mind you I have little to no pain though. I had to skip a few hot baths as the weight of my sac was stretching my incision while it was soft from the bath.

Depends which pump you have. Do you have the Titan Classic (aka; genesis) OR the Titan OTR?

The Classic has 2 deflation bars 180 apart and both must be depressed and held during deflation.
The OTR has one deflation button. The opposite side is just a finger pad to support the pump while pressing the button.

If you rub your finger around on one of the flatter sides you can feel the button it's about as big as a ink pen depressor and only sticks out a tiny bit. When I think I'm on the button a give a tight squeezing strong down the shaft and I can fell the bulb fill up. I let go of the button momentarily and repeat about 3 times. then give 2 mini pump squeezes so I don't auto inflate within the next 10 minutes

I heard the same thing about reliability which is the reason I also chose the Classic. My surgeon told me, in his experience, it’s the most reliable and also the easiest to pump up vs the OTR or AMS MS. That’s because the Classic is a simple straight path 2 valve design. The OTR & MS pumps have a 3rd valve which adds resistance to the saline flow plus another opportunity for something to go wrong.

There are two drawbacks to the Classic pump. As you said, a little trickier to learn but I was assured it becomes second nature after cycling is mastered. It really comes down to a choice between less effort to pump up or less effort to deflate - can’t have it both ways. The second can be a dealbreaker for guys dating and trying to conceal their implant. The Classic pump tends to be noisier due to the freer saline flow. I was told that can be managed to some extent by slow deliberate pumps. Thus far I haven’t heard any objectionable noise but I’m very early in cycling and going slowly. Nonetheless, my wife has been very supportive and would sooner hear an occasional swooshing sound than my implant broke.

In short, Dr. Eid said to me; if you can live with the two drawbacks, the Classic offers you the best chance of this being the only implant you’ll ever need in your lifetime. For me the choice to go for reliability was a no brainer.
