Best wishes on your surgery. I think I recall from another post that the doc told you that you would be able to drive yourself home the day after the surgery. And I also recall that you live four hours from the surgery site. If both those are correct, I suggest that you be prepared for a "Plan B" in case you are not feeling up to driving yourself that far. You may be able to do the drive okay, but some guys have more pain that others so you might not be able to. A "Plan B" might be to have provisions to either stay at a hotel near the surgery for a few days and/or to have a hotel located half way home in case you don't want to do the whole 4 hour drive in one day. I don't want set up negative expectations, but better to be prepared than not.

Dave, thanks for the input. I have thought about staying in the area an extra night. He always does implant surgeries on Tuesdays and then holds follow-up clinic at the same hospital on Wednesdays. There are hotels nearby.

My implant surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, July 9. My doctor, Dr. Avila of Ironwood Urology, will implant an AMS700LGX unless he discovers unknown complications. I will have my surgery at Chandler Regional Medical Center, Chandler, AZ. I have been dealing with ED since 1998 and have tried all the pills, MUSE, VED and Tri-Mix. Thanks to the guys posting on this site, as well as research on the internet and through reading papers published by the experts in this field, I gained the knowledge I needed and the courage to go ahead with an implant at this time. Keep up the great work keeping others informed about all your experiences. It helped me tremendously and I hope to be able to pass on my experience after July 9!

We may have a problem... Yesterday morning I woke up with slight discomfort in the perineal area at about the 1:00 o'clock position. I have a past history of prostatits although it has never been confirmed to be bacterial in its cause. That is, my urine has been tested and cultured and never been positive for bacteria. Initiation of urination might be slightly slowed, like fifteen seconds versus five. No increase in frequency, no dripping, etc... Just slight discomfort and POSSIBLE slight hesitancy.

I went to the walk-in clinic yesterday and got the doc to give me seven days of Levaquin 750 mg. I was hoping he'd offer me a shot of Rocephin but he didn't and I didn't want to seem med-seeking. He seemed amazed that I'm not on Flowmax and implied that all men my age should be on it and that reduced flow could be causing the perineal pain. Another possible cause of the discomfort may be protracted lengths of time without ejaculation as the ED is so severe that it is basically impssible. Do they call this "blue balls?"

My implant is scheduled for the 25th and the problem is complicated by the fact that Dr. Karpman is on vacation this week. Obviously I will be calling his office tomorrow but I'm really hoping this does not delay my surgery.

An Update:
As time goes on I'm thinking less that this is prostatitis. The ache is higher up in the rectum and more to the right side. PlusI don't have any urinary hesitancy or frequency or sense of pressure. I'll still be calling Dr. Karpman's office once they open but am feeling less worried about surgery being delayed.

Hi my name is Frank

And my procedure is set for July 1 2013, my surgeon's name is Dr Bruce Garber.
I'm very anxious about getting the best possible results, and Dr Garber has the MPLG process that he designed
MPLG stands for maximum penile length and girth, and that is something that I can get behind. If I don't have to lose any size, then that is totally awesome.

Ps
Does anyone know how to post and view photos on this site?

Thanks as always
