This came to me and it got me thinking about this question. Has anyone had to deal with a warranty on their implant device? Either right after or a few years later, and what did it cost you out of pocket? Did the insurance pick up the cost? What brand was the device?
Please tell your story. Good or bad

Re: implant warranty?
Medicare will pay in full (less your deductible -- $100 in my case) for revisions, including cost of the new parts & the cost of the revision surgery needed to replace them.
Don't know if any regular medical insurers will cover implants or not but, if they do, I'd assume they'd pay for revisions as well. Depends on the insurer.
However, for "out of pocket" payees, even if the parts are warrantied by Coloplast or Boston Scientific, you'd still have to pay "out of pocket" for the revision surgery & will not get reimbursement for that from those companies.
My doc mentioned that he had patients in that situation in relation to the AMS recalls/problems which required him to do replacement/revision surgeries. He said that''s why he switched to using Coloplast Titan instead of AMS.

Re: implant warranty?
Interesting...I sent an email to Coloplast Corp AND the two local Richmond VA reps who are the 'back table' assistants for Virginia Urology surgeons over a week ago about my pump failure and have heard only 'crickets' from both! I have not and will not contact VU! Great support!!
