I thought I'd close out a couple threads I started for the benefit of those who come to this decision and forum later.
Things have worked out great but it was a bit bumpy getting here.
My incision continued to have small pockets of serous/bloody discharge and apparently fibrin (some yellow material)until about 7 weeks after the surgery date. I was always in a panic that it means something was infected with the implant itself but apparently any infection, if there was any, was superficial I did have to do a couple rounds of antibiotics usually mostly for skin infections and continue to keep the incision clean and dry. I used baby shampoo for the cleaning as recommended by the urologist and used a hairdryer to make sure the scrotal incision was dry. Nothing topical
Bottom line - I had read elsewhere the incision should be healed in two weeks and then sex after 6 - for me it took more time but eventually got there.
