Study with men implanted since they were young?

Postby Frenchie » Wed Feb 22, 2023 7:56 am

Are there any studies about implant lifespan and revisions in men who were implanted very young and are now middle age or older?
How many implants is possible to have and after how many surgeries your penis "cant take it anymore" and the surgeon cant fit another implant?
From a young guy point of view the implant feels like having a time bomb which can fail at any moment and everytime you do a revision something can go wrong and you remain impotent and say goodbye to your wife forever
There are too many early revisions and multiple surgeries that scare me for my future implant experience

I have the same worries.

But Dr. Ralph and Dr. Clavell told me in their opinion that will never happen. They should always be able to put in antoher implant.
What concerns me more is the infection risk. If we need like 8 or more revisions in our lifetime, it's very possible to happen at some point..

But if your dick doesn't work, there is not really a choice anyway.. Just have to go to the best surgeons you can and hope for the best..

I am in the same boat and what gives me hope is that medical advancements will undoubtedly happen in the future to lower infection rates. Hopefully surgeons continue to innovate and learn as well.

My guess is most infections happen because the guy doesn't keep the incision clean after the surgery.
Guys who are implanted at an early age will likely need a revision down the road. When all goes well you should get 12-15 years or more of use. If your ED is so severe you can't have sex, an implant is the best option unless you plan to give up sex. Plus, future implants will make advancements.

Thats quite an interesing story. He got 25 years of use out of 3 implants. Not the absolute best but still a good lifespan. I can accept that as a result

I'm 72 and I hope that I won't need a revision (or at least, not more than 1) in the time left to me.

My heart goes out to you who are still young & (based on current estimates) will need to "revise" your implants 3-6 times or more in your lifetimes.

That's a daunting thought but, of course, the alternative is so much worse.

Let's just hope that improvements are made to significantly increase the longevity of these implants & reduce the number of revisions that are necessary due to mechanical failure.

Yeah I'm pretty sure this is not the case. It wouldn't happen ever if every surgeon closed the incision completely like Dr. Eid does with undissolvable stitches and glue.
