Starting to get worried

Postby EricDraven » Thu Feb 23, 2023 6:02 pm

I was implanted 7 days ago by the Veterans hospital. I had many concerns about my surgeon's inexperience and overall knowledge. I have emailed her and was just told to let it heal. I have an appointment with her in person in 8 days.

Here are my concerns. There is no pain at the incision site. Overall, I feel good and all the other healing processes seem to be on schedule. My issue is the pump and the cylinders.

What I mean is, I have been pulling on the pump several times a day even though the pain is almost unbearable because of the pain in my scrotum. The pump initially started placement on the right side of my right testicle. I have been able to move it toward the center and have tried to pull it down. Currently, the release valve is positioned right behind my right testicle. There seems to be inflammation and swelling because of this. The left side is great. The doctor says don't worry about it. The pump hasn't moved that much and it is in a very bad position currently. Will this heal on its own?

2nd, my penis head is very small when flaccid. I had a 6.75 girth pre-ED. It was very wide and oval-shaped. The rods have been placed and I checked the girth and it's 5.5 inches, flaccid. I was told the pump hasn't been activated yet. Because my glans is so narrow, the rods are pushing toward the top, and there is no place for them to go. It is very sore and I can reach down at any time and the rods are attempting to poke through the skin. Normally, if I had a large glans, I'm guessing the rods would be pushed into the glans. Also, on the sides and the back of the penis, the rods are rock hard. The pain is a little less than it was a few days ago. I couldn't imagine having sex because the rods are hard as steel and I'm sure the girl would feel the rods poking out of the skin (not through the skin, but close enough). Does anyone know if this gets better with time and if I'm just overreacting? Everything else is going so well as far as pain overall.

Worry not, you have it installed and very early days, let it heal-give it a few months then when the swelling is down and you are cycling daily if the things are not in the right place you should revisit the doc. I would guess your doc sees you in a week and things are not as they should be, she will tell you what the options are. Nothing was as smooth as I would have thought with mine, lots of pain, swelling, bruising for 6 weeks or so, pain on total inflation for several months after. Had gentle sex at first with a bit of pain, but as time goes on it gets better until you totally don't feel pain except when it is up too long.
Peace out...

If I was in your position I wouldn't trust an inexperienced surgeon and I would visit one of the top surgeons for their opinion.

Waay too early to be concerned. Everyone heals differently at different rates.

The first 60 days brought up concerns in my mind but looking back, they all resolved with time.
