A 25 YR Old's Story

Postby ChillOut2k » Tue Aug 06, 2013 7:54 am

I am 25 and I am suffering from ED, due to a lower disc injury. My penis is slightly numb, my erections are spontaneous at best and hard to sustain. It's very frustrating and irritating but in time you learn to deal with it, well not really but you learn to accept it. Can anyone chime in their two sense about getting a implant at such a early age? Is this the way to go? How is your sex life after the implant? Do you still have natural orgasms? Are you limited to sexual positions? How often can you have sex after the implant is implanted? Is sex painful? Do you still ejaculate naturally? Implant vs long term sexual pills? Etc thank you.

Although I'm 40, I feel like a 25 year old (and probably act like it too). My penis is completely numb after I had a spinal cord injury. I used to get rock hard and had sex like a porn star. Before my accident, I had a disc injury as well, but I had a surgery to correct it and symptoms went away. Before getting the implant, I would suggest working on either physical therapy or surgery to correct the disc injury. I started working my abdominal muscles out and it helped my symptoms tremendously (core muscles are what take the strain off the back). I really hate that your penis is partially numb. Hopefully you can recover it by getting the disc fixed.
40 year old that had an aircraft accident 3 years ago (Aug 11, 2010). I had a spinal cord injury at L-1 that left me with partial paralysis. I'm able to walk some with effort. I have bowel/bladder/ED issues from the injury. Titan implant on Aug 12, 2013

Ok and how long did it take for the nerves to heal and the penis to return to normal.

Chill,
there are several guys who have posted here recently who had the implants and are in their 20's, so you are not alone in your situation. One guy from Minnesota, started a video blog to describe his results. You can find a link to it by clicking on "Discussion Forums" and then "Members" on the left side. I think you will find his experience useful to you. Another guy uses the userid "Irishguy". He is about your age. Search out his posts for more info.

There is good chance an implant can give you the help you need so do pursue finding out all you can about it.

I probably didn't word that very good. I've had 2 back injuries. One was temporary in that physical therapy and working out my abdominal muscles helped to fix the problem. That one only had some tingling in my feet. My second injury was a spinal cord injury from an aircraft accident that is permanent. I can't feel my penis at all. If you have just a disc injury, many times they are correctable with physical therapy or surgery.

Thanks guys It is difficult to deal with sometimes I sit there day dreaming, other times I can feel like crap as if some one snatched away my manhood. I discovered this site by looking online searching for options. The stories on here are encouraging. Only problem is what kind of insurance can I find to pay for a procedure like that. Most plans don't cover erectile dysfunction especially for my age bracket. I am surrounded by beautiful women and my penis is like a dead fish floating on a lake ouch.

Everything about sex is the same with an implant as it was before your penis quit working. The only difference is how you get hard when you get soft.

Medicare will not pay for Viagra and similar ED pills but will pay for the implant. Some guys here have had other insurance plans pay for it. Your best bet would be to get a job that provides insurance that would cover the implant, if that is possible. I doubt that any private plan you purchase currently will cover it. I think that Obamacare has rules against excluding prior problems so when those are in force that might help you to get insurance to pay.

The other option is to just pay for it out of your pocket. I read someplace here that a doctor at the Cleveland Clinic will do the surgery for a total cost of about $12,500. That is a lot of money but half the price of new cars and about the same price as a medium size wedding. Given that you have a lot of years of potentially happy sex life ahead of you, it might be worth the investment in your future happiness.

I looked at the Medicare bills that covered my surgery and they totalled about $14,000 for everything. So you might find a doc in your area that could do it for about that amount. I have seen other people say that their implants cost $24K to $30K so the price can vary a lot.

Keep investigating the options and I'm sure you will find some way to solve your problem.

Best wishes,
Dave

Hey chill,
I would say,if all else fails look into the implant. I suffered from 37 - 41
I was implanted 8/7/12(just a year ago)at the age of 41 am. Now 42.
And I cldnt be happier it gave me back my manhood,I couldn't take the mental abuse of ED any longer.......most insurances will not cover ED drugs but an implant is a totally different story, and the right doc. Will get it covered. Do you have insurance?(not to get personal)
If you wanna talk you can send me a PM.
Best wishes,Rich.
