I am 48 years old have had ED since I was 16, I can get an erection but I can not maintain it, tried pills I dont like the side effects, tried Trimix it has been hit and miss, I think I should get an implant.
Re: Realistic expectations.
Everyone is different. I don't think that there is a "Normal". People with the same doctor and the same implant have vastly different experiences. (Length, recovery times, loss or no loss of sensation). I think as long as you go with one of the high volume people you are going to get the best possible outcome for you.
I am at week 8 yesterday and I feel like I am only on other peoples week 2 or 3 recovery schedule. My doc told me I could start pumping when he saw me around day 18 or 19. I did not start pumping until week 6 because it was too painful to squeeze the pump, Other people start pumping at week 2 and have sex with their doctors blessing as soon as week 4. Some even do it before that without their doctors blessing.
Go with a good doctor and you will get the best possible outcome for your body.

Re: Realistic expectations.
Nathan ... Perhaps you should focus your "realistic expectations" on the final result ... an end to ED and an erection that will "get up" each and every time. Just think of it ... no more disappointments for you or your partner.
As long as you have no pre-existing issues the sensations should be the same. The oval shape is really not an issue ... learn to enjoy your second chance.

Re: Realistic expectations.
I had my titan on June 28th, 2013 and I was not told that there could be potential problems. My doc was not able to get the cylinders all the way up to the head so my cylinders stop right before the head of my dick and i have a floppy head now and I am having trouble penetrating my partner. My doc gave me blessings to start cycling the pump at about week 3 and i could start having sex at week 4. Well I am almost at week 8 and my shaft is still swollen a little. I have went down from about 8 inches to 4 so far. I was shocked I was not told of this. I am not able to cycle the pump more than like 20 times and its still not that hard. I see the doc again on Sept 4, 2013. I am going to make him cycle it a little. I am also having trouble with the pump placement. My pump is sitting at the base of my shaft and can be painful especially trying to deflate it. My doc says it will go down just keep grabbing at it everyday. It aint working so far. It looks like I have 3 balls. I also like the fact that I have what looks like a semi hard on now when soft but i don't like that I can't wear basketball shorts now without underwear without my dick looking huge and getting lots of stairs. It always looks like you have a semi at least for me. I had a venous leak thats why pills weren't working. I am almost a little like I wish i wouldn't have had the surgery and just dealt with the pills working sometimes and sometimes not. Its frustrating for me and my partner as we are young and want to have sex. I hope the length comes back. My doc told me to keep taking my cialis to bring blood supply to the penis. Ask many questions from doc and make sure he does your incision thru the pubic area not cut your shaft and scrotum there will be less pain and swelling. I also after surgery didn't feel like walking so they made me wear those anti blood clot things on my legs and when I went to pee it felt as if my bladder wouldn't empty. My doc kept me in hospital overnight.

Why? ... was there some kind of issue found during surgery?
Well I am almost at week 8 and my shaft is still swollen a little
I doubt there is still swelling at this point unless you have other medical issues (diabetes, etc.)
I have went down from about 8 inches to 4 so far. I was shocked I was not told of this
Really? ... no "Flaccid Stretch Test" ... no pre-existing scar tissue/plaque (Peyronies) ... no discussion on expatiations? Just prior to Implant surgery you could get a 8" erection with pills? I've never heard of anyone losing 4" ... what size cylinders were used?
I am not able to cycle the pump more than like 20 times and its still not that hard
Why? ... too painful? ... explain ...
It always looks like you have a semi at least for me
It is what it is ... especially with a Titan ... that point is mentioned here many, many times ...

Nobody here is really going to sugar coat things. That is what we are here for... to explain what has happened to us, both good and bad. Not every experience is going to be positive. Its better to hear when things don't go perfect than it is to go into this blind and think that everyone has a perfect experience and comes out with a perfect 9 inch penis that we always wanted. Just go with the best doctor you can find. If you go with someone who has done less than 500 of these things then you need to go with someone that has. Going with one of the high volume guys does not guarantee a perfect outcome but it increases your odds of having a better outcome.
I have gone with one of the high volume guys and things have not been perfect. I am a slow healer and I am not a big as I was and I am having some issues with where my pump has settled. I would not change a thing though. The doctor is going to look at the pump location this Friday and see why it has settled in so high and see what we can do. I have started to regain some of the length, even though it is a titian. The swelling is finally subsiding and the hard ring around the base of the penis that was there until last week has gone away and that has allowed more of the shaft to be exposed. I think it was a Hematoma and now it has been reabsorbed back into my body. I have had one of those before. After that hard ring went away is when I realized that, that is what it was instead of some piece of hardware that was going to have to live with. I still have a good bit of tenderness a few hours a day and a loss of sensation on the shaft. Each of those have gotten better though. Though out the first 6 weeks I wondered if it would every get better or if I would regain any of the length that I should have, based on the size of the implant that the doctor put in me. It always gets better and I am glad I went forward with this. I know that in 6 months I will not even remember it is there.. Except when I need it

Re: Realistic expectations.
Like the earlier post indicates, I suspect everyone is a bit different ..... I am about 9 weeks post implant with an AMS 700 CX and I am extremely happy with results. I had lost length over the years but used a VED every day for 8 weeks or so prior to implant to regain length .... got to just under 6 .... URO said I probably would be a little under that with implant however I am at the same length with implant .... I wasn't that concerned with girth .... mine was more long and skinny and is still on the skinny side (but works quite well Ha). The head doesn't get rigid .... rods go up in it a ways but very end is soft but no real problem to insert.
The looks were a lot worst than actual pain ..... if you see my pictures under members only "dark moon" you will understand .... I was black all the way around to butt hole. I took pain med for about 3 days at half the max dose. My URO wanted me 75% inflated for 4 weeks ... that was more of a nuisance than anything else .... I stayed at home .... cut a hole out the front of a couple of pair of jockey shorts and went around the house with my hardon leading the way. URO had said to put cock head up under waste band of shorts but I found that very uncomfortable .... I did it a few times to go outside house ... I put a doll sock around head of penis and this padding helped some with head held by shorts.
I had quit reaching orgasm during intercourse several years prior to implant ..... thus far I have not since implant either .... I have come close and feel I might well eventually achieve orgasm. Just prior to surgery the doctor started me on Flomax because of urine retention. Between the Flowmax and the daily VED workout, my penis became much more sensitive. It has continued to be more sensitive after the implant. I am not sure if it is due to flomax and improved blood circulation or the implant.
I have had a few minor issues as far as learning the pump operation and seem to auto inflate a little. Overall I am quite happy and feel that it will only get better.
So mine has been a very good experience.
