I'm surprised that you'd still have any soreness 1 yr post OP.

FWIW, I only got my implant 9 wks ago and my left nut was extremely tender to the touch for 8 wks but that tenderness has since gone away.

I assume this was due to the fact that the reservoir was placed on the left and that my left nut got seriously abused in the process. Was a bit worried if there was serious damage done there but that concern has now passed.

Mind you I have a Titan not an AMS, My doctor said since he started his practice he has never once seen a cylinder fail. It's always the connecting tubing, reservoir, or pump. If you have a significant enough rub that is consistently there all the time you may run the chance of some erosion just like you do with a malleable. But that would be something to discuss with your doctor or if it remains uncomfortable.

Also worth noting, I'm only a few weeks out and I've been cycling and I do some stroking while cycling to help stretch the skin and it helps make things more comfortable as well, but I actually have a couple skin tears. And buddy those are sore. Check your dick over real well and see if the skin tore it may not have been the rubbing at all, it may have just been there wasn't quite enough lubrication in the minor skin tear happened
