Make sure you hear all viewpoints. I am 9 1/2 weeks post implant and seriously doubting my choice. I could have avoided the pain and expense and stayed with the pump or injections. Neither was perfect, but they stil worked.
I am dealing with serious loss in length and girth. Realize that risk is there. Choose the implant only if you have no other choices stil viable.
Some men report no loss of length, no pain, no swelling. However, I firmly believe they are lucky only and most men do lose size and of course have pain and swelling.
These are just my thoughts based on my own experience. Good luck to all!
If considering an implant....
Re: If considering an implant....
Steve,
I agree wholeheartedly.
I didn't have much of a choice; wife was totally turned off by pump, injections quit after long run.
Looked at the Yahoo group, and other places as well as Frank Talk. Saw notes on both sides of results. This site tends to be more optimistic and more positive results oriented. Still there are several posts that would give you pause, though they seem to have aged to the back pages now.
Advice to all. If going for an implant expect at least 4 weeks of pain and swelling, and at least an inch of length loss. Girth, unless you are among the less fortunate and have conditions the require a smaller diameter cylinder or only one, your girth will probably not take too big a hit. Minimum of about 3.5 inches. Ask urologist for worst case scenario and expect no better. Expect unforseen complications to surgery.
If you go in knowing this you probably will be pleased with the results.
Again, this is the end of the line! Make your choice carefully both on going for implant and then in choosing your urologist surgeon.

I'm sure everyone realizes the risk ... however you still seem to be in denial of your pre-existing condition.
You failed to mention that you had extreme scar tissue ... so bad that only one cylinder was implanted. You have stated before a 15 cm cylinder (and 1 cm RTE) was used, so if you go on the (non-scientific) theory of 1/3 internal and 2/3 external. This would give you about 11 cm external = 4.3" ... you previously posted that "Well after 2 1/2 weeks pumping, I get to 4 1/4 length and 4 5/8 girth". Seems to me you are right on schedule ... given you have not reached the peak yet in your expansion.
As for your girth ... with only one cylinder you are not going to reach what you had before ... again this was caused by the scar tissue and not the Implant itself. Many others have explained to you that you can not compare the size you obtained via VED to erect with the Implant.
Some men report no loss of length, no pain, no swelling. However, I firmly believe they are lucky only and most men do lose size
The vast majority of guys here do not have any real size issues ... only those like yourself with pre-existing conditions ...
It's unfair to post "most men lose size" when this is not the case ... I understand you are disappointed with your results, however I think with daily pumping in time you should be able to get close to 5" ... and that's not bad considering ... just remember your Implant will still be working many years from now ...

Guys,
Think about it: surgery of any kind on any body part should always be a last resort. In that regard, there's nothing unique about a penile implant.
Just sayin',
Greg

Re: If considering an implant....
I am just 4 months post-implant surgery and my length is about 5 inches. Yes, that's shorter than before...but before I couldn't use it due to ED and now I can and I do,gratefully! 4 months isn't that long a time and I really think that it will grow another inch or inch and a half with more time and lots of use, which I sure plan to give it! My wife says that it's just fine now and that as long as it reaches from me to her it's just right. Have patience and ENJOY IT!

Re: If considering an implant....
I saw you posted that you were 6 3/4 and after some months Post op you were 5 1/2, that´s not a 2 inch loss and it is the penile average size...

Re: If considering an implant....
Here's an update. Although I lost about 1 1/2" after IPP and I only received one tube due to scarring on one side, the sex is great. My girlfriend recently had 9 orgasms in an evening of intercourse due to my new size and shape hitting here G-Spot just right. She is "off the scale" ecstatic with me.
So although I'm not totally satisfied from a man's point of view, the women in my life LOVE it.
I also have less sensitivity in my penis which is good and bad. Good because I can go again and again pleasing her and not orgasm. Bad because sometimes I don't orgasm for a long time. I think the sensitivity is getting better, so I would appreciate any comments from others on that topic of Penile Sensitivity after IPP.
Good luck to all.
