AI and the Implant

Postby Mark1974 » Wed Jul 12, 2023 12:26 am

Are you guys as hopeful as I am that artificial intelligence will be used to improve implant technology? I really don't care if the robots enslave us as long as I have a good working penis.
Born 6/15/74. I have substantial venous leak with fairly severe hour-glassing, but no hard plaques. My urologist is sexual health expert Dr. Laurence Levine who performed a Doppler Ultrasound and diagnosed me with VL in 2020. I also have mild BPH

I’m a fan of AI and follow a lot of discussion around the topic. It’s scary the amount of disruption potential it has for our future, but it also presents a lot of good opportunity as well.

The way I see AI helping move implant technology along is mostly that it saves engineers a significant amount of time on certain tasks. Especially the newer ones that are learning on the job. However, it won’t get you the answers you need unless you train it on that specific dataset. And this implies that data is ever shared by hospitals, doctors, etc. to feed the AI. Given how archaic our healthcare system is and compliance, I find that very unlikely any time soon. The real advantage we’re getting with AI here is that it trains people to be quicker, more efficient, and better at what they do.
